An All-New World Filled with All-New Pokémon

Pokémon White Version features the same handheld RPG and Adventure gameplay that has consistently thrilled Nintendo DS players, both young and more experienced, but it also introduces players to an all-new Unova region. Brought to life with improved graphics, Unova is a mix of urban and natural landscapes in which players are just as likely to encounter skyscrapers and bridges, as they are to walk alongside mountains and seascapes. It is of course also filled with a potent blend of all-new Pokémon, including the Legendary Vast White Pokémon Reshiram and the Deep Black Pokémon Zekrom. Stepping into the role of either a male or female Trainer, players further have their choice of their first Pokémon, who will serve as the first of many Pokémon companions in their travels through Unova, as they attempt to capture every wild Pokémon variety available and test their skills against other Trainers in turn-based battles.

Experience Legendary Pokémon

Both of the Legendary Pokémon Reshiram and Zekrom appear in Pokémon Black Version and Pokémon White Version, but each can only be caught in their respective versions. The Legendary Pokémon Reshiram appears on the cover of Pokémon Black Version Version and the Legendary Pokémon Zekrom is seen on the cover of Pokémon White Version Version. New Battle Modes Add a New Level of Strategy

In addition to a wealth of new Pokémon for players to catch, train and battle with, Pokémon White Version also supplies players with entirely new ways to fight with its new Battle Modes: Triple Battles and Rotation Battles. Your Choice of Starter Pokémon

Pokémon White Version starts you off on your new Pokémon adventure with a trusty Pokémon companion. Choose the Pokémon you like the most - it will be with you through thick and thin as you explore the Unova region. The three starter Pokémon all have different types. Your knowledge of the strengths and weaknesses of these types will be put to the test early and often.

Product Description

Redefining the Pok series, Pok White Version offer fans and newcomers alike a completely new adventure to discover and enjoy. And for the first time ever in the series, the two games feature their own individual areas to explore. Set in the Unova region, which is located far away from the Kanto and Johto regions Pok fans will be familiar with, both games also feature all new action-packed locations, such as the bustling urban environment of Castelia City

Pok White Version also mark the first time in the Pok series that the seasons will change in the game world. The result sees specific Pok appearing more frequently during particular seasons and also changing in colour or form. Furthermore, players can only access some areas during a specific season.

As if that wasn't enough, players will also encounter more than 150 never-seen-before Pok some of which can only be caught in each version of the game. At the start of the game, players can choose between new, older boy and girl Trainers, as well as from three new starter Pok - a Grass-type Pok Snivy, a Fire-type Pok Tepig or, a Water-type Pok Oshawott - before departing on their adventure with two childhood friends.

In Pok White Version the player is tasked with completing two quests. One is to complete the Unova Pok by finding and catching every Pok in the region - however, in order to fully complete the Unova Pok players will need to trade Pok between both versions. The other is to become the Pok League Champion by battling with wild Pok and other Trainers in the region. Players will train their Pok with the ultimate goal of taking on the Elite Four and the Unova Champion! Thanks to some all new connectivity features you will be able to hone your fighting skills via the Random Matchup mode, using the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection.

Very refreshing! 4 Mar 2011

Fun:

I have played the Pokemon games since the Yellow version came out. I have only played it for a bit so far (first gym badge) and for me this game is very refreshing and feels like the first time I've played a Pokemon game again, with 150 brand new Pokemon and no sight of the old ones until you complete the game its great!

Some ways in which the game starts is different to the previous ones too so it feels new. I got bored playing Pokemon Ruby and Pokemon Diamond so I wasn't too excited about this game thinking that the Pokemon games are the same old thing. But Pokemon Black and White is brilliant and I am addicted to playing it like I was with Yellow and Silver!

Well i'll keep it short but basically this game thus far for me is awesome. Its pretty much sticking to the old formula of 'If its not broken, don't fix it'
and so it's pretty much what you would expect from a Pokémon game.
I'm only about 2 hours in and already i'm having alot of fun with this game. The Pokémon names though are friking awful but with over 500 + Pokémon you can't really blame them lol. A nice addition is everything so far appears to be rendered in 3D even the inside of peoples houses and what not which is great, the battles have stepped up with some very nice animation on the Pokémon themselves but i'm still waiting on a Pokémon Stadium type battle system in full 3D. Overall fun game, seems easier to level Pokémon early on and just having a blast with it atm. I would say go and get it quick.

Having played all the previous pokemon games from red and blue all the way to heart gold and soul silver you could call me a big fan of the games. When diamond, pearl and platinum were released it felt like Nintendo were starting to run out of ideas. Then with Gold and Silver being remade they had some good ideas but again, nothing but remakes. I can honestly say i think black and white breath new life into the franchise, the changes in the games are fantastic and the 3D like aspect is pretty well done. Anyone that's thinking of giving them a try to re-live some of your more geeky/childish days i doubt you would be dissapointed with these games.
