Working as a professional counselor who counsels youth and families, I have used Dr. Harper's Poems for Young People in my practice. Poems from his book speak well to the prevention and solutions of client problems. I found Dr. Frederick Harper's themes of character building, morality, violence prevention, values clarification, healthy living, friendship, self-esteem, and loss to be very helpful in working with my clients.
