Product Description

Product Description

More and more artists are seeking clever ways to make their albums and paper projects more interesting and three-dimensional. One of the most exciting ways of accomplishing this is by adding interactive elements, such as doors that open and reveal hidden layers, envelopes and pockets that hold secret text, personal letters or special photos. Pockets, Pull-outs and Hiding Places teaches the paper engineering techniques for making three dimensional and interactive 'paper tools' such as vellum pockets or hinged doors that reveal mini booklets underneath. Artists with any level of experience can use these tools for altering books, memory art and collage. The tools are also adjustable enough to be used in any style of work.

Amazing book! 21 Feb 2006
By TKP
Format:Paperback
This is such an amazing book! There is SO MUCH in it - LOADS of projects and ideas, with good explanations on how to do the projects. Great pictures for inspiration. If you like scrapbooking, altered art or cardmaking and are looking for something different to add to your projects, this is the book. Well worth buying!

Just got a copy of this book, and it is fabulous.

It has all sorts of techniques for making exactly what it says for scrapbook pages, books and altered items. The photographs are amazing, lots of close ups, and there are templates, tool and materials lists for the 27 different ways of hiding and presenting ephemera, journalling and - well - whatever!

Contributors include Tim Holtz and Jenny Bowlin amongst many others.

A gem of a book 22 Jun 2010
Format:Paperback
Having come across the book by accident, I bought it on impulse, and am so pleased I did.
This is a joy of inspiration with so many ideas that you will working away with paper and glue for years to come. Each of the many projects can be used in so many different ways, and each project will trigger an 'I can could do this from this and change this here......' moment.
The projects are well described and the photos clear and well presented.
I suggest that many of the projects are for the more experienced crafters, but with care anyone could follow the projects.
For card makers and scrapbookers alike, this is one book that you will come back to time and time again.
