Product Description

Product Description

This popular pocket atlas helps readers rapidly identify key anatomic structures of the neck, abdomen, female pelvis, and male genitalia on ultrasound scans...and shows how to distinguish these structures from artifacts. The thoroughly revised Second Edition features 74 sharp, new images obtained with state-of-the-art ultrasound technology. Each page presents a high-resolution image that is clearly labeled to point out anatomic landmarks. Directly above the image are a key to the labels and a thumbnail illustration that orients the reader to the plane of view (sagittal, axial, or coronal). This format - sharp images, orienting thumbnails, and clear keys - enables readers to identify features with unprecedented speed and accuracy. "Recommend that this atlas be in the pocket of all neophyte abdominal ultrasonographers and all first-year radiology residents. It should also be available in all radiology departments." - "Radiology".

A Great Little Book 22 Oct 2005
Format:Paperback
This little book is ideal for the beginner whether sonographer or SPR. Inside you'll find page by page high quality ultrasound images of common sections used to evaluate organs. Each image is labelled and the section described to allow you to easily duplicate whilst scanning. It is truly pocket sized and light/slim to allow convenient reference for everyday use during your early stages. I recommend this to all my new students.

Hardly 70 US pictures with corresponding drawings with some labeled structures. Id say its good for students at the very beginning, thou not nearly useful for residents as it say in their description. Better spend twice the much amount for a decent US atlas / book.

Not that helpful 10 Mar 2007

It's an okay pocket book. But I needed more explanations to go along with the images. I'm a beginner.

As a radiologist, I was looking for a quick reference with axial and sagittal anatomy. This is a small pocket book with eloquent diagrams and easy to understand labeling. I wish they had a version for Kindle, but the book is excellent regardless. I would say it is even superior to Ultrasound Requisites in clarity of anatomy. Requisites may be the book to go to for in depth explanations, but it does not fit in your back pocket.
