5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent guide, but check before travelling 11 July 2006
Format:Paperback
This is a great way to plan hoildays if you don't want to leave your dog behind! It's just a shame that in some areas there are almost no dog-friendly placed (e.g. Surrey - we had to stay in a 5-star hotel as there was no other option in the local area - what a shame :)

Good descriptions of all entries; unfortunately this particular book is now a bit out of date, so best phone up to check before travelling - can't wait for the 2006/7 guide to come out!

4.0 out of 5 stars A Fine Book 27 July 2009
By D. Eden
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
I've bought a few books claiming to give this information and this is the best (and smallest) of the group. It isn't that this one is brilliant, it's just the others are pretty weak. The information is up to date and it is a good way to plan days out. However, there are plenty of places allowing dogs in that are not in the guide so it's still worth looking elsewhere.

1.0 out of 5 stars Out of date 13 May 2012
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
Sadly, this much needed product is very much out of date and extremely limited in coverage, content and functionality.
Nothing inside the M25 and only three locations in Berskshire and 5 in Bucks for example.
I live in Wimbledon Village (London) where there a 7 pubs, six of which welcome dogs.
A new, current version would be enormously successful, especially if it had photos of establishments, map references and links to establishment web sites and local parks, or walking trails etc.
A software version for Android (and even iPhone) would be great too.

I didn't read the detail, obviously, so was not aware of how old it was until I received the book. 10 years! It was not expensive but that's not the point. Would not recommend.
