4.0 out of 5 stars Great Playing, Good Soond 26 July 2011
Format:Audio CD|Amazon Verified Purchase
Apart from the Vaughan Williams and the Chausson, the contents of this CD are pretty out-of-the-way. No harm in that; there are far too many compilations around of the same 16 hackneyed pieces. Fischer's playing is a real pleasure, and the late Kreizberg provides an intelligent and sympathetic backing. A CD for enjoyable and comfortable listening -- and well recorded, as well.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant & Heart-felt performances 24 July 2012
By Scriabinmahler TOP 500 REVIEWER
Format:Audio CD
Julia Fischer knows how to make violin sing with soul and her sweet lyrical tone is just right for these poetic works for violin and orchestra. The heavenly performance of The Lark Ascending is the highlight of the album. The orchestra matches the deeply expressive playing of the soloist and beautifully recorded.
