The item was delivered within the time specified and was as described in the 'blurb'.
I found that the multi-language instructions cumbersome as they are printed in a single column for each language on one very large sheet of paper which had to be fully opened to read. In my particular case the description of what happens--screens and dialogue boxes etc--in the instruction sheet didn't correspond with the OSD. The instructions were not too user friendly.
Although the design allows for scanning a book, the first book I used was a problem in that the central margin was only just wide enough for the scanner to capture the whole length of the line of text (if the book cover had been less flexible I doubt it would have captured the whole text). Because the side of the book opposite the side being copied hangs down in front of the scanner it means the scanner has to be well above the surface of the desk/table it stands on (I had to use a foot-stool to raise the machine high enough for the book to hang freely). Having to hold the book in place means it is difficult to operate the buttons/mouse to make the scan. I can see that this is going to be a problem when the book is wider than a novel (some of my books are 12-13 inches wide!)or more than a few pages long.
Overall I would not recomend this machine for copying books if this is your main purpose, there are more suitable scanners on the market (unfortunately they require the book to be broken down into individual pages for scanning).
