It's a bit noisy, but I guess it's a common issue for portable and slim players. BTW it's the only Blu-Ray reader at this price and furthermore it's USB powered, so it's completely portable and also if you will use it on your desktop it's always convenient to avoid an AC Adaptor, in fact I bought this especially for this feature. ;)
It's quite elegant although the material seems a bit pour, but the 2 years warranty should guarantee at least 2 years of use.
Beware that this is only a reader not a combo drive, so it will read BD, DVD and CD but cannot write any of this media, but this is not a big deal, I bought it to get rid of discs not to burn new ones. I had bad experiences in the past years with burned discs, like loss of data after several years, and you never know where to place them; better to save all your data on hard disk since now are so cheap and with a large storage.
The BD speed is only 4x but there is no need of more speed and furthermore I don't think usb 2.0 would support more than 4x (BD 4x is much hiher than DVD 4x). If you need a higher speed BD player forget USB 2.0, buy instead a usb 3.0 drive if you have already an usb3 port.
