If this had Van Halen or Whitesnake on the sleeve this band would be selling multi platinum albums and filling rock stadiums, featuring the unbelievable vocals of Keith St John who can sound like Hagar/Coverdale or Plant and the amazing Doug Aldridge on guitar, this is a must for anyone that likes 80 s hard rock music, all three Burning Rain albums are highly recommended but this is my personal favourite, awesome.

Blimey - this LP just rocks - pure and simple. If you fancy 45 minutes of Whitesnake on angeldust then this is for you. Outstanding!

Burning Rain's rock-solid second album - reissued 16 Sept. 2013
By Justin G. - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
Originally released in 2000, Pleasure to Burn was the second release from Burning Rain, a melodic rock band featuring guitarist Doug Aldrich (ex-Lion/Bad Moon Rising/Hurricane/Dio and currently Whitesnake) and powerhouse vocalist Keith St. John. After the more straightforward hard rock of Bad Moon Rising's later albums, Burning Rain was a welcome return to the kind of melodic rock Aldrich was a part of with Lion and Hurricane.

Looking back, Aldrich's work in Burning Rain was the logical predecessor to the kind of work he would perform in Whitesnake. It's very melodic, slightly blues-oriented, and St. John's vocals are even somewhat similar to David Coverdale's. With its memorable melodies and catchy hooks, Pleasure to Burn is a throwback to the previous decade, when melodic rock ruled the radio. It's also a more laid back album than the first Burning Rain, which is probably a bad thing if you want a more party rock sound, but even then this album is hard to resist. This is blues-based melodic rock delivered by one of the best (and still most underrated) guitarists in the business.

Pleasure to Burn is a better than average melodic rock album from a better than average melodic rock band. Unfortunately it was also the last album Burning Rain released for well over a decade. Aldrich, of course, has been busy with higher profile gigs with Dio and then Whitesnake. The band is back on the scene though, which is one of 2013's most welcome developments.

Edition Notes: Pleasure to Burn (as well as the Burning Rain debut) was reissued by the Frontiers label in 2013 to coincide with the release of the third Burning Rain album Epic Obsession. The reissue features the previously unreleased demo "Live For That Rush" and an acoustic version of "Cherie Don't Break My Heart" as bonus tracks. They're cool additions, but perhaps not enough to make the album worth re-buying (especially since you can buy the bonus tracks individually right here) if you already owned the 2000 version.

Total Whitesnake. 29 May 2013

Format: Audio CD
Might get one of their releases just cause Doug Aldrich is a badass. Singer went to David Coverdale singing school.
