Book Description

4 Dec 2006

An intimate celebration of women and friendship from international bestselling author Nikki Gemmell.

‘The Bride Stripped Bare’ exposed female desire as no other book had; raw, intoxicating and breathtakingly libidinous.

‘Pleasure’ looks set to do the same with more secret women's business – dealing candidly with everything from Brazilian waxes to 'secret' underwear, from coping with broken hearts to what makes a perfect partner (a checklist to cut out and keep), from advice on the friends who flatten you (frenemies) to the importance of empathy.
Both bold and intimate, ‘Pleasure’ is a book Nikki Gemmell says she looked for as a gift for a cherished friend – and never found. So she decided to write it herself.

Encased in a stunning design package with beautiful feminine illustrations, this is a book every woman will want to share with her best friend, aunt, sister or fairy godmother.

5.0 out of 5 stars The perfect guide to a womans life 31 May 2011
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
This book is a lovely gift to others or to yourself. Filled with insightful stories, odd tips and inspiring quotes it's a real treat. The pages are thick and ranging in colours - pinks, red, grey or cream. It covers many topics in a womans life that many don't dare to cover and she does it with sensitivity and ease.
Not a typical Nikki Gemmell so if you've read her other novels then don't expect the same haunting beauty, this is a much warmer and softer tone and often completely different to her usual stuff.

5.0 out of 5 stars An Almanac for the Heart 2 Jun 2009
Format:Paperback
I'm not normally for books that insist on giving you advice, but my mother insisted that I read this one, and I ended up spiriting it away with me to the other side of the world.
It's so uplifting, and so many times I have thought "phew, so I'm not the only one".
Definitely a book that every woman should keep in her handbag.
