Product Description

This is a collection of stories. Many of them revolve around San Francisco. Many of them evolved from the schisms in my brain. Some of them are love stories. Not many though. Unless you believe every story is a love story...which is a notion I endorse. None of them are true.

5.0 out of 5 stars Bite-Sized Brilliance 19 Aug 2012
By Brian Beam - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
There are very few authors who once I read one work from them, I feel I need to read them all, bumping them to the top of my reading list. JD Mader was added to this short list after reading his first novel Joe Cafe(also an amazing read).

Please, no eyes. is a collection of JD Mader's short stories, each brimming with JD Mader's unique writing style. Each and every character feels real with Mader's uncanny ability to put the reader in their head. Mader is not afraid to delve into the deepest, darkest reaches of his characters' minds and does so seamlessly. Not all the stories or characters are dark, but many are, and their lack of sugar-coating make them real.

Though I typically do not go for short stories, Please, no eyes. was so entertaining that I didn't mind the shorter lengths. I was once again blown away by Mader's ability to finely craft his characters. These characters ring true, feeling like they could be someone you know, work with, or even be you. The stories are well written and edited.

Please, no eyes. will pull you in and won't let you go until the last page.

5.0 out of 5 stars Powerful short fiction - unlike any other storyteller 8 July 2012
By J. Teal - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
I have been reading JD Mader's short fiction for several years, through his regular posts on Indies Unlimited and through his blog; I am so very pleased to have my Mader favourites, and a couple of new stories, pulled together in one volume. JD is a rare find. I would describe his style & writing genre as urban, real, rock and roll, powerful literary fiction. The words, imagery, reveals of the stories, grab you and pull you right in.

You may feel initially that you are reading and learning about characters and lives that are new to you; I assure you, by the end, you will realize that you are reading and learning about the twists and turns of your own life. Be warned, however, these stories are gripping, gritty and real. The expletives fly in some...but that is because real people speak in a real vernacular. Trust me, he knows how to write. Does he ever.

5.0 out of 5 stars This was A JD book 5 Mar 2013

This author has a off colour humour and view of life that is definitely not dull. The description can tell you more, This is a collection of stories. Many of them revolve around San Francisco. Many of them evolved from the schisms in my brain. Some of them are love stories. Not many though. Unless you believe every story is a love story...which is a notion I endorse. None of them are true." As a reader any time I read this author's stories and his blog, I am distracted from the woes of life for awhile and actually smiling, as it is surreal writing, but exciting.

These stories are quite varied......it is interesting that they come from the same author. Some are funny as hell, some tender and many are both.
