Product Description

Cover your ears because your child is going to squeal when he discovers the "magic" action in this elefun busy ball popper toy! the power of air pushes balls out of the elephant's trunk, but it sure feels like magic to him. We made the trunk adjustable so the play can advance as your child grows. For little ones, just angle the trunk to the back left and the balls will roll into the front belly pocket for put-and-take play. Angle it to the back right for continuous popping action. For bigger kids, angle the trunk to the back center for random pop-and-roll fun or angle it forward and all the balls will pop out onto the floor for ultimate chase-and-fill play! don't worry, the balls are super lightweight - it helps them pop! your child is going to get some great physical play out of this toy, but he'll never know he's "exercising," he'll think he's just having fun. This toy also helps encourage development of fine motor skills, gross motor skills, cognitive learning and sensory development.

Lot's of Elefun! 17 Sept. 2011
By CKE - Published on Amazon.com
Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? ) Durability:    Educational:    Fun:
The Playskool Elefun Busy Ball Popper comes from a long line of Playskool ball poppers. Stop. Try to say that sentence five times fast! They all have one thing in common, and that is that kids, mainly toddlers, love them. The Elefun Busy Ball Popper is also lots of fun, but while it looks cooler than some of the others - it doesn't quite bring the smiles as the Playskool Explore and Grow Busy Ball Popper.

A few notes -

- Requires 4 D batteries
- Does not have an adjustable volume - so it only one setting, "LOUD"
- The trunk on the elephant rotates. When the balls "pop" to the elephant's right they roll into the elephants belly - where they are stored. When the balls "pop" to the elephant's left they roll back into the trunk where the elephant blows them back up into the air (See the video).
- The ball are shot into the air using a small fan that is located near the elephant's trunk
- Comes in two colors, blue and pink.
- Again, the design is cooler than the standard Playskool Busy Ball Popper

Final Verdict - This is a loud, but fun toy for your toddler. While our daughter prefers the standard Playskool Explore and Grow Busy Ball Popper both toys are staples of day cares throughout the USA.

really excited to buy this for my daughter, really disappointed that i did. 7 Mar. 2012

this toy is cute, spunky, and what little one doesn't like balls..

we bought this toy and the fan quit working after the second time we turned it on.
brand new batteries, and the music still works- just no fan. totally defeats the purpose of the toy and
a total waste of too much money for what it is.

even when it did work, the ears do not catch the balls when they should, the packaging is a nightmare to remove.

it is cute though, and my daughter still likes to play with the plastic balls that it came with- but who spends 40-50 bucks
on 5 small plastic balls?

i'd return it but how was i supposed to save the packaging when it took the jaws of life to remove the toy?

Fun for her, work for me. 19 Oct. 2011

Durability:    Educational:    Fun:
For a child, this toy is alright. It is colorful, has a cute design, and plays music. But I've seen other ball poppin' toys, and in comparison, this one is a pain.

The main problem is the balls do not pop into the ear, which is supposed to catch the balls, then return them to the poppin' part. So the result is, I spend a lot of time chasing the balls around the room and returning them to the toy. The end of the trunk rotates so you can control which way the balls pop out, but even when it is positioned towards the ear, the air flow is variable (intentionally) and the balls still end up rolling on the floor. The intention of this feature is to encourage your child to move, and chase after the ball. But really, what 1-3 year old will do this? Maybe one or two times, but then it becomes like cleaning up. And no child thinks about cleaning up their messes! This toy just makes a mess that I have to clean up, with balls rolling in all directions around the room.

My other main complaint about this toy is the noise. Yes, to have the air flow be powerful enough to spout balls out it has to make some noise, but it is so loud that my child wouldn't even come in the room with it on for the first two weeks! And the music is not catchy. Most playskool toys have really catchy tunes, that I'll be humming through the day. This one has "10" (I can't make out ten distinctive tunes) which are just alright.

And third, the air flow is bad. It is either too much or too little, and the balls end up just hovering at the top of the trunk, so I'll have to grab it, and push the other balls in to get the flow going again, because once it stops, my child usually just walks away. I tried new batteries, but it's the same. A good toy wouldn't require so much interaction from me.

Overall, I give this toy two thumbs down. The concept is there, but it was not developed properly. I am highly suspicious that this toy was created by people without children, who don't understand that kids will get bored if it doesn't work, and they don't like cleaning up!

Doesn't work for long 20 Nov. 2013
By Carlo M. Razzeto - Published on Amazon.com
This toy was such a disappointment. It worked great for the first 15 minutes or so and the kids had a blast, but the batteries quickly ran down and the balls stopped popping out. They would just hover at the tip of the nose. A few minutes after that, the batteries would stop completely. It didn't even matter that we would replace them with high-quality batteries - this thing needs massive amounts of power to work properly, and unless you are willing to spend a small fortune on batteries and replace them almost daily, the toy isn't going to work properly. Another issue is the balls. It only comes with 5, and they are thin and too easily crushed. And of course, the crushed balls won't pop out. You can buy replacement balls for $15 a pack, but that's half the cost of the elephant itself! Ridiculous. My advice would be to save yourself the headache and get some other toy.

Fun 10 Feb. 2013
By Tayler - Published on Amazon.com
I never would have guessed that people could be so intensely critical of children's toys. This one is entertaining for our children and cute. It is noisier than other toys, sure. But definitely not as irksome or obnoxiously loud as many reviewers claim. I can't complain about balls getting lost as a negative to its fun factor, as I'm not sure why anyone would expect them not to roll places or why one would think it is the toy's fault. We like this one.
