Paisley Szuzman came to the Laurel Ridge Ranch in Daly, Wyoming to interview for an administrative position, but she’s shocked, and secretly aroused, to find that the job might entail more than she envisioned. Anyone filling this spot must meet the criteria of plays well with others, and the “others” are the men on the ranch— four hunky cowboys who are pure, rugged temptation. Adventurous to the core, Paisley takes the challenge and finds more in store for her than she ever imagined.

This is another book set in the town of Daly, where inhabitants agree to live the Daly Way, i.e. a menage lifestyle, as the guys far, far outnumber the girls.

As a tale, it had an actual storyline - the main leads, Ace and Brant want a woman to complete their relationship and also need an admin assistant, so they hire Paisley based on her bio and her skills, with the hopes of indoctrining her to their lifestyle.

She's attracted to the guys, but thinks that they are gay, yet when she realises why they've employed her, she loses it for a bit, which made me think 'good on you girl'. She wasn't prepared to be a paid bed companion, which is what she initially thought the contract included, but when she analysed things and then listened to the guys without a hissy fit, she suddenly decided that as she'd never had a menage, she might as well try one, so she, Ace, Brant and their two friends go for it.

It was a hot tale, rather than a scorching one, and yes, eventually Ace and Brant get their girl, which would have IMHO been a HEA, but they also agreed that from time to time, their friends would be allowed to join in their sex lives. Not a HEA in my book, as if it's a menage tale, for me it needs to be a permanent, committed relationship. Yes they end up a family, and an increasing one at that, but for it to be a Keeper for me, it should have ended with just the trio.

This series could run and run and run, but after 2 books which were pretty sameish, I think that I will leave it there. They're not quite my idea of a true HEA.

Good book, leaves you wanting more; perhaps craving more is a better way of putting it. The style etc is down to personal preference. If you like this kind of book, you will enjoy THIS book.

Nice menage but short 3 Sep 2010

To start: The Daly Way is a series set in Daly, Wyoming where there are very few women... I can't remember the exact numbers thrown out but something like 167 guys to 7 women type of thing. The first book in the series is "Belonging To Them".

I like this book, but it didn't bowl me over. I enjoy Brynn Paulin as an author, and I though the first book in this series was great... or might've been move inclined to give this book 3 stars (too bad you can't give half stars...). This book was a bit too short so that the characters didn't really have time to develop, and the plot held little tension. It can be difficult and swampy if you're trying to flesh out 5 people involved in a menage, and I understand that the core of this menage was actually three people... but even those three main characters were lacking in facets. The woman, Paisely, was well developed and likable the two men, Ace and Brant, weren't -- the other two parts of the menage were meant to be "in passing" so I wasn't expecting to really get to know them. For example Brant's cousin (who is there to help on the ranch for a few months) talks to him about what a great writer he was in college, and asks him if he still writes (Brant says no because he's too busy with the ranch)... I expected that at some point that would come into play... perhaps in way of deepening the relationship between Brant and Paisely (wooing her with an old bit of writing... let her see his more creative side... etc) but it never came to fruition.

That said, over all it was a nice, easy read. The sex scenes were good... not as smoking as they could have been. For the price it's worth reading. However if you haven't read "Belonging To Them" I go with that. I hope that Brynn continues this series but with slightly longer stories that permit the characters and plot to be more fully developed; there's plenty of room for that with this setting.

Warning: This book does have M/M action so if that bothers you go for something else.

Paisley Szuzman's bid for a slower, small-town way of life led to her applying for a job as an office administrator at the Laurel Ridge Ranch in Daly, Wyoming. She may not know much about cows or ranching but she's a fast learner and believes she's fully capable of handling everything the job requires. What she doesn't know is that women are scarce in Daly and her `meshing' well with her employers is a key point in her being hired. Her office skills will be why she's hired but winters are long and cold and Ace and Brant fervently hope her vow to PLAY WELL WITH OTHERS extends to more than just her friendliness - at least where they're concerned.

Ace Graham and Brant Cauldwell are more than business partners on the ranch, they're also lovers. Don't make the mistake of believing either of them is gay though, they're bisexual and definitely interested in adding a woman into the mix. The ranch really does need an office administrator but that wasn't their only reason for advertising for help. They are hoping that the woman who takes the position will be adventurous enough to enjoy life on the ranch the `Daly Way.'

Paisley's more than a little shocked when she learns that her new job might entail more than she was led to believe. Oh, Ace and Brant don't come right out and say it but there are clues and hints that boggle the imagination and arouse her more than she wants to admit. In a panic she flees the ranch and winds up back at the diner in town where it soon becomes obvious that the town's men are desperate for female companionship. Paisley's relieved when the men from the ranch arrive to save her from all the male attention but she's still uncertain about becoming involved in a ménage relationship - especially when she learns that it would involve all four men on the ranch. Paisley's adventurous but is she prepared for the emotional and physical demands this job will entail?

PLAYS WELL WITH OTHERS is the second book in Brynn Paulin's DALY WAY series. I couldn't resist diving into this story after reading BELONGING TO THEM and I'm certainly glad I picked up both titles. The sex scenes are scorching, characters are charming and memorable and there's no small amount of emotional angst. With this second installment to DALY WAY readers get to revisit this charming if a bit off-balance gender-wise town. I have to admit that I love the whole concept of this series simply because ménage and gay situations are the norm and not frowned upon. Of course there're also characters, such as Leena who runs the town diner, who I've taken a genuine liking to and want to revisit. Hopefully it won't be too long before we see another DALY WAY release.

Plays Well With Others is Book Two in the Daly Way series

Paisley Szuzman decided she's had enough of New York city life and wants to live and work in a more rural setting. So when she notices an ad for an administrative position at the Laurel Ridge Ranch, she jumps at the chance. All too quickly, however, she realizes that Daly, Wyoming is overflowing with men and not enough women. To the point that many of the men share one woman. In Paisley's situation, all four sexy cowboys on the ranch want her for their own. At first she's upset that these men didn't share this information with her at the interview. Soon, however, she's warmed to the idea and can't wait see what her four virile men have planned for her.

I've come to believe that author Brynn Paulin is queen of multi-amory love. I've recently been educated by a sociologist and linguist that the correct term, using proper language bases, is either polyphilia or multi-amory, not poly-amory as it's commonly called. Whatever the tern, Ms. Paulin knows her stuff. Paisley is a heroine with gumption. A little bit of sass, a little bit of savvy and a lot of generosity has these four men eating out of the palm of her hand.

All four men were unbelievably masculine specimens of sexuality, but I do believe it was Ace that captured my heart most thoroughly. All Alpha, all cowboy, he took charge of almost every situation, and was thoroughly up to any task. His intensity sent shivers down my spine. I can't say much more about the story because of the potential of giving away a key part of the story, but I will say that it's a wonderful story, the second in the Daly Way series, after Belonging to Them. A fabulous read, and I can't wait to read about the Daly journeys of Paisley's sisters, Moonbeam and River.
