When Edward Bond wrote 'Bingo' he knew (as a left-wing playwright) he might possess valuable insight into the mind and nature of Shakespeare. I believe he fails in this because too much of 'Bingo' dwells on Shakespeare's need for financial security - a need that Bond might have been feeling at the time. Perhaps Shakespeare was estranged from his wife when he finally returned to Stratford from London if so she would have done less for him - thus pushing Shakespeare into the arms of others wanting to enclose common land.
