Got this toy for my 6 year old daughter's christmas and she just adores it. Have never had Playmobil before and was very impressed with the attention to detail. From drips to oxygen masks, amazing. Very sturdy and will last the distance. What I will warn people is that it's a nightmare to build. Took my husband hours as the instructions are awful and the bits are all over the place. I don't think I could've done it. Was worth it in the end tho as toy is fantastic.

Halfway through building this my sarcastic 5yr old daughter said
'Here's your present daughter, it's going to take forever'.
609 pieces including the 22 stickers, 3 hours in total to build (and I was flying along by the end) I kid you not, this is more akin to something made by Airfix than Playmobiil. The kids usually go to bed at 8, I mistakenly opened this box at 6, it was 2/3 built by their bedtime and by 9 it was complete, we let them play with it for an hour and they went to bed at 10. Today, perhaps obviously, they're a bit tetchy.
Still now its complete I feel a great deal of satisfaction, oh and the kids absolutely love it too. Lots going on and an amazing level of detail down to the charging stand for the dect phone, lights in the operating theatre on universal joints, baby bottle warmer (with controls), working giraffe height stand, cot with sliding sides (bless), box files for the receptionist and nicely sculpted lights for outside the hospital; yet to be vandalised. Sadly the only oversights seem to be the hospital only has caucasian doctors, everyone is smiling and there are no boozy women with plastic vomit in reception or indeed drunken half butchered males taking up valuable space in the operating theatre. I also find the clown somewhat disturbing and from henceforth he is banned from the children's ward.

Although this took a couple of hours to build and there were quite a lot of small pieces, there were no parts missing and the end product was fantastic. All the parts fitted together smoothly and were well finished. Previous sets were of equally high standard.
Small children will need an adult to help with putting it together. Hours of happy play followed completion. Love the fact you can also add further items in due course. Brilliant for imaginative play.

The Clinic took my son, age35, several hours to assemble, watched impatiently by his two daughters, ages 4 and 6.
It was well worth time and effort especially when a much loved Playmobil Corsair hove into view and provided plenty of casualties for the Clinic. I had no idea my sweet grandaughters could be so bloodthirsty!
The design and attention to detail is inspiring.
Well done Playmobil!

An amazing gift, my 5 year old asked for it after seeing in a well known department store. After some research we ordered online as the packaging is huge. She has not been disappointed! It has so much to engage and ignite a child's imagination and I highly recommend it.
But do beware as previous reviewers have stated it takes 2.5 hours to put together!

Our daughter was asking for this in every letter written to Santa and every time somebody asked "What do you hope from Father Christmas?". So her face when she found a single large box stuffed into the small stocking was worth all the money. I was prepared for the 2/3 hour preparation/building time so we opened this present a couple of hours before Christmas lunch was served... this is where the Grandparents came into their own.... and we then had a very contended girl for the rest of the day.

Since then the hours of playtime we have had with her playing on her own, including anyone who will play with her and also roll play has been well worth it too.

No missing pieces despite the large number of loose items in the box. The instruction manual was easy to follow.

I may be alone in this- but this wasn't bought for or been played with by any small children... I admit that I wanted it for me (a 'grown up')! And it must be said that I was probably far too excited when I got this as a present when I passed my first set of med school exams!...

It is big, and it took me an enjoyable few hours to build. Since then it has been remodelled slightly inside (O.R. is now upstairs and paeds is downstairs), and been supplemented with various other bits in the hospital series. The helipad and chopper (4222) sit out the back, the paramedics from the ambulance (4221) sit and drink tea with the receptionist between jobs, and there are now several beds in the adult ward as I had two of the hospital rooms (4405) as birthday presents over the last couple of years. The only bit I now lack is the clinic (5012) which seems to have come out in the last year.

I think this toy, and all the other bits that go with it are great fun and are hugely versatile so will provide years of enjoyment (both to children and grown-ups alike)! I would also think that its educational, because not only does it provide a basic view of a hospital environment, it also has a high attention to detail; from the ultrasound scanner (complete with bottle of gel), to the defib in the O.R., to the IV lines and the oxygen masks. I can't comment on durability other than the fact that its sturdily built, and so far I haven't swallowed any of the small pieces!

Overall I think that this toy is amazing! Its expensive, but it comes with so many pieces and is well made so I see it as being reasonable value-for-money and lasting for many years to come!
