I Bought this for my three year old for christmas. She also had the playmobil christmas in the forest advent calendar and the playmobil penguin enclosure. I think this is a great starter set for girls, an affordable way to see if playmobil suits your child. You get everything you see in the picture, a fairy, unicorn, river, tree, butterfly, dragonfly, swan with three tiny babies , some flowers and a crystal type thing. This is enough to keep my daughter occupied for about 20-30 minutes at a time on it's own, and when I combined it with the forest animals from the advent calendar, she was happy and quiet for an hour at a time. there are tiny tiny pieces (flowers etc) which you will have to reattach from time to time but happily they come off cleanly and don't break.
This is a good set to add to later as your collection grows, you could go down the fairies route, or forest animals or even the mermaid range.
I don't mind joining in playing with the playmobil as its so attractive and nicely made, and I think it inspires creative play in children. Friends that have visited have also been very taken with this, so overall I'd say for less than a tenner you can't go wrong with this toy.

My three year old has really enjoyed this toy this christmas. It gives great joy and opens up many chances for imaginative play, I've been joining in quite a bit. I also purchased a playmobil 'fairy and unicorn' (Playmobil 4692) set so we have 2 unicorns and 2 fairies to allow 2 children to play together. My five year old son has really enjoyed joining in the games (don't tell him I told you!). my 4 year old daughter received this for her birthday and she loves it! some of the pieces are a little fiddly for such a young child but she will grow into it. need good storage tub so as not to lose any pieces!

Nice set
Lovely set which is easy for a child to put together independantly. Lots of potential for using imagination, i did purchase additional add ons. My daughter loves it.
