I bought this set with some others in addition to a big playmobil pirate ship for my son's 4th birthday, and I'm so glad I did.
Of the 3 accessories pirate sets I bought, this one was the best value for money and had the most things. We love the little cave to hide the treasure, the hammock for the pirates to sleep, the flag and the boat. My son loves setting up all the pirates on and around the island and on the ship we bought and rowing back and forth and stealing the treasure from one another!
It's easy to put together and easy to use.
As with most 4+ Playmobil, it does have tiny weeny pieces that can get lost or broken easily, so I would say it's fine for a careful 4 year old or older, but might not be appropriate for a more boistrous child.
Brilliant set that would be a great addition to any of the pirate range or just on it's own.

We bought this toy for our 3yr old but I'm not sure who enjoyed it most, we took it on holiday and the oportunities for story making were endless( a pleasant change from cars)The small parts are very easy to loose but that's all part of the learning.

Playmobil is usually hugely overpriced (in my humble opinion) - this set is actually pretty good value in comparison. I bought it for a 5-year old, and after a bit of help with the assembly he spent ages playing with it. There are some VERY small parts (if you've still got all the gold coins after 20 minutes play I'd be amazed), and some fiddly knots to be tied when putting the hammock up, so it's not something a small child would be able to put together alone. You might want to add another pirate or two if this is the child's first Playmobil set - the ghost pirates or the skull pirate are reasonably priced too. Overall, though, recommended.

much loved toy
