Product Description
Finally the family has arrived at the camping grounds in the family camper. Now they first get the four champing chairs and the folding table from the spacious baggage compartment in the roof and place them in the shade of the pull-out awning. Then the little boy grabs his bike which was stowed away in the side of the camper to go on a first reconnaissance tour. He comes back just in time for dinner which mom has prepared in the kitchen. After dinner, the parents sit outside for some time and enjoy the evening while the children cannot wait to get into their soft beds. Which child would not love sleeping in a `bed on wheels`? I bought this for my little boy for his 4th birthday recently and we all love it! It's our first playmobil item and I was a little skeptical that it could be worth £30 but it has earned every penny of it in the first 2 months alone.
There is stacks of stuff included in it and as ever with playmobil some of it is extremely tiny. I have a 18 month old as well and I do have to watch that none of it goes in her mouth.
The top comes off so they can play with them inside and the attention to detail is amazing - tiny little holder for mobile phone, pull out shower and tap - cute little toilet. We also bought the beach set which has been great too and my son can spend ages driving them for a day at the beach, getting the little picnic table and chairs that are stored in the roof box of the camper out for them to have lunch and then maybe a bike ride (2 bikes, 1 childs, 1 adults stored in another part of the camper.
So many things for them to do with it and it's so cute even mummy like a little play sometimes :)

We own a rather embarrassing amount of playmobil but this camper is one of the most played with items and would make a great present!
When we got the camper, it came in a quite satisyingly big box with lots of bits. From my measurements for an item which is about 33cm by 11cm there is a lot packed in and a great deal of play value. The van did require a bit of daddy-aided assembly, nothing too tricky - four wheels to assemble and put on and wing mirrors to fit and the van was good to go.
Like all the playmobil we have the camper is a nicely made and detailed toy. The manufacturer says that the toy is for 4 +, probably due to the tiny pieces of food and cutlery that come with it. That said, I am quite happy for my two and a half year old to play with it which she does nicely - so I think parental discretion should be used as to whether to remove some of the smaller items until the child is older.
The van opens up with the roof being removed to reveal 4 beds for the oh-so-nuclear family that come with the set (mum, dad, one girl and one boy). There is a foldable table and four chairs that are stowed in the roof, also the side door opens so the people can get to their eating area, small bathroom with shower and toilet, kitchen and the driving area. There are a couple of bikes and a gas cylinder that also stow in a little cubbyhole to the rear of the van - oh and there is also a fire extinguisher for the safety conscious family. The best bit for me is the food items - they are all hidden under two of the beds with 4 little plates, cups, cutlery and a couple of pans. There are little tins and cartons of juice. It is just so cute!
When the kids can wrestle the van away from me (tidying up the little bits is so much more satisying than trying to tidy my actual house) they both really enjoy playing with it. The toy is well made and able to stand up to being pushed around and all the parts work well. An older visiting child aged 7 was still quite happy to play with the van and put out the table and food and pull out the awning. The camper is a great aid to imaginative play.

My children (5 and 2) love this camper van and so do I! Playmobil stuff is so durable (the chairs have been stood on a couple of times and just click back together!) and well designed, it's impossible not to love it all! Some rather small bits which don't necessarily end up in children's mouths but down the back of settees, wedged under car seats etc but still much fun had by us all with this toy!
