I had asked for this mat as a present as I thought it would be perfect for some baby nappy free time (as per the picture). The mat claims to be waterproof, but it failed to prevent little accidents from leaking through onto the floor beneath. Because of the supposed waterproof backing it has no grip for the little ones to crawl along and ends up travelling across the floor with the baby. This said, I now use it under the high chair to catch food and any minor sippy cup spillages...so a good use found for it in the end!

This item looks padded from the picture, but I can confirm its really thin, in fact a towel would offer more protection, but at least the colours are bright and the backing is waterproof. As play mat its not that good but at least you can use it as an outdoor ground sheet as long as its on a soft surface such as grass or sand...
Should really be marketed as an outside playmat for use in the park or garden. Has a water resistant backing, which is absolutely lethal if you stand on it when it's on a wooden floor or on carpet. Very slippery! Also provides no comfort or warmth to baby when she is playing on the floor. Pretty pattern though! Don't waste your money.
