Bought this solely for the Yello remix, "Soul On Ice", which I guess was destined for the Hands On Yello project, but didn't quite make it. It's an obscure album track and here he extends it to its absolute max! Mixed feelings about the result, but I don't think its surfaced anywhere else on CD so a must for Yello completists.
The whole compilation runs along smoothly, and has a consistent feel-good feel, as you'd expect (and want). Nothing incredible, but enjoyable nonetheless. Highlights for me were the Soft Cell (same version as available on the CD single) and the Chicks On Speed cover version.

who wouldnt?

its too bad that this isnt a watered down, mass-marketed, commercialized release because it would be nice to be able to play it in the club i dj at without getting balls busted. the bass lines are too funky and driving for todays shallow music market; the vocals surpassing anything on the radio its just a shame that our friend playgroup couldnt be a top 40 artist and has to make masterpieces that one would think others would move to. Songs that cant be denied apparently are being denied. this was ofcourse all sarcasm. buy this cd not to be passed up.

the vocal on the chromeo-you're so gangsta remix alone makes this album worth buying!!!
