Bought this for my 5 year old and she absolutely adores it. It looks very similar to the ipod nano (which is about £120+) and I wasn't prepared to spend that amount for a first MP3 player. Sound quality on this is good and it has a video player too. It also has a camera and video recorder which are poor quality but hey come on what would you expect for this price? My daughter wanted it for the music and photos and that's what she uses it for. She is very pleased with it. HOWEVER, if I had bought this for myself I would be dissapointed because it is noway near as good as an ipod in terms of quality. Don't buy this expecting an ipod because you can't beat Apple quality. If you buy it for your kids as a low cost MP3 player you won't be dissapointed.

I ordered one of these for my 8 year old - yes, there are no instructions but the on-line manual is very comprehensive. I am not technically gifted and was a little deterred by the reviews on the MP4 4th generation also sold by this distributor.No worries though, it was simple and intuitive in fact the player is so good that I ordered another for my 6 year old. Bit of a problem in that I ordered the wrong product but JSM were so helpful and understanding and sorted it out straight away. I have bought numerous products on Amazon and this is the first one I have felt the need to review - not least because of the fabulous customer care. The sound quality of the player is great, the kids love it and I will get to listen to my Ipod shuffle on the plane - though I may fight them for one of theirs as you can see the track name and navigate easily around the play lists. I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a relatively inexpensive gift - the camera and video recorder have kept my son quiet for days now!!He is busy transferring the pictures to the lap top. Brilliant value - easy to use and a big thank you to JSM for their service.

I bought this because I'd bought the older version & had it stolen, and thought I might as well pay the extra £3 for the new version with the radio & camera. In general the players are good for the price, the battery life is pretty bad (4-5 hours on the old one, and I think it's less with this new one) and the controls can be a bit confusing (e.g. you have to press left/right to go up/down on the menu) but apart from that, it's a nice player that does its job and is really nice & lightweight. HOWEVER with the new one it has a really annoying feature where, if you shake it, it scrolls along- so if you're on the 'now playing' screen and shake it, it moves onto the next song. Not good if you're on the bus & it jolts, or jogging/walking fast- even moving the player from in front of me to my pocket made it move. I have no idea how to turn it off and it's REALLY annoying! Also with the new one it takes ages to turn on while it 'generates playlists' which the old one didn't. All in all, if you're thinking of buying this it's probably because of the price- don't expect great things but it's not an awful product either.

Save your money
What an absolutely crap product. Buttons are stiff, clunky and noisy and the battery life can only be described as brief! Couldn't have cared less when my dog chewed it up.
