I'll not go over things which many other reviewers have noted- just the things which jumped out at me. Firstly, this DVD is produced by a media producer from the capitalist land of the infomercial. Needless to say there is a fair amount of repetition and self promoting. Secondly, as with other Playboy productions which I have seen, there is much footage which has an over exposed, digital, shiney and artificial appearance. It smacks of poor photography and lighting or a deliberate attempt to camouflage skin 'imperfections' in a rather arty way. The DVD is slightly informative about Pam's career but does have the merit of portraying her personality. It seems obvious now that Pam's success has been driven from her personality rather than looks alone. There is laugh out loud unintended humour when it becomes apparent that this much mentioned ideal of all American beauty is of course, Canadian.
As a European, I did not find much of the footage very sexy. It perpetuates the American ideal of a cosmetically enhanced and rather artificial woman. As it is not very erotic, I doubt many sperm bank clinics will use this type of material. Neither is it a concise biography of Pam. For me it sits between the often unthreateningly brief Playboy portrayal of nudity and self advertising whilst demonstrating why women should not resort to cosmetic surgery. Indeed, I would suggest that this unintended use may be the most valid reason to view the DVD. It clearly demonstrates how Pam's admittedly advancing years with ever more surgery have conspired to make her less attractive than the fresh faced and imperfect beauty she once was. For that reason alone I think this makes it a must see for any woman considering cosmetic surgery as an enhancement rather than a correction. Collectable for Pam fans but only worth renting or buying cheap for anyone else.
