I first heard a scratched copy of the original LP in 1974. I have searched for a better copy ever since. I bought this excellent first ever CD transfer from Terry Boylan's website last year; I am very glad to see it now get a wider release. This is one of the best records of 1968 in my opinion: the high point of East Coast psychedelia. Hightower Square and You're The Biggest Thing In My Life are wonderful melodic songs as fine as any you will ever hear. There are a couple of spoken sections that either date the record or add to its charm depending on your point of view. I take the second view. Playback was a favourite record of both John Peel and John Lennon: you don't get better endorsements than that.

I have been a collector of vintage psychedelia for over twenty years and thought that I had heard EVERYTHING worthwhile, so I am astounded to come accross this now, so late in the day. It is like NOTHING I have ever heard before! And I am at a loss as how to categorize or even describe it. The best I can do, is to say that it is SUBTLE, and may therefore take more than one listen for its unique quality to shine through. The Beach Boys on acid, maybe; but no, not really.

WOW I have had some of the words from "Louise" stuck in my brain for 45 years since hearing it on Radio Brussels or Lux. Nice to be able to hear it in full and also enjoy the rest of the album.
