Microsoft have been slated time and again for the excessive bulk of their controllers for their oddly shaped box. The response to this was to release the type S controller which a lot smaller it stiller carries a rather weighty price tag. This also seems to be the trend with most third party pads. This has now changed thanks to the the Play-X controller. It is considerably less bulky than most pads and is available for around a tenner.
However it is not quite the perfect pad with a few small, albeit a bit annoying, niggles. The analogue sticks are a bit loose and fidgety but esay to adjust. The game buttons are good (much the as Microsoft's) although the start, back, turdo and clear buttons are rather small and hard to use. However the main let down of the pad is the rather cheap and nasty shoulder buttons which despite being a good size feel horrible and give off a ghastly sound when you press them.
On the whole though a good pad thats easy to use at an excellent price.
