A good film, Just like it was in the early days,
Some great artist appearances, Helen Shapiro, Jess Conrad And many more,
If you are a Billy fan you need to watch this.

play it cool 19 Jun 2011
Format:VHS Tape
Play it cool is a fantastic film I am a Billy Fury fan from the 60s so this was a must to own with lot's of Rock & Roll music From Billy Fury & The Satellites, Bobby Vee, Shane Fenton,Helen Shapiro and Danny Williams.

If you are a Billy Fury Fan or you like the 60s era this is a Great film to buy, if your like me trying to find Great Old Films on DVD instead of Video I found Play It Cool from [...] As I've been looking for hard to find films on dvd for a while.

Ive just finished watching this film and its not actually very good..very flimsy script and poor direction by Winner (If you do manage to watch this film notice how Winner tries to spice things up by trying to get as many scantilly clad women as he can in some of the shots}..
For some reason Billy Fury just doesnt have the screen presence of some of his contempories...Cliff Richard, Joe Brown, Marty Wilde,Adam Faith..which is suprising as on T.V he always came across as someone that would give the opposition a run for their money..
With the flimsy script and low budget it really needs someone to carry the film...(Elvis made a lot of questionable films but his charisma and screen presence carried the whole thing)..sadly Billy isnt that person..
The film is full of accomplished actors and musicians none of whom seem to rise to the occassion...(Dennis Pryce actualy looks quite embarassed). Shane Fenton actually looks as though hes enjoying himself and strangely happy when Billy jumps on stage and steals some of his limelight..
All in all a bit of a dissapointment..not one good song in the whole film..not even the Title song...
