Book Description

Oct 1998 Everyman's Library Pocket Poets
A representative selection of verse by the Pulitzer Prize-winning writer who left in the wake of her personal tragedy a legacy of poems that combine terrifying intensity and dazzling artistry. With their brutally frank self-exposure and emotional immediacy, Plath's poems, from "Lady Lazarus" to "Daddy," have had an enduring influence on contemporary poetry.

5.0 out of 5 stars This little book cannot be commended too highly 8 Nov 1999
By Bruce Graham - Published on Amazon.com
A really excellent selection by Diane Wood Middlebrook, includes almost all the important last poems ('Letter in November' is missing), and a good selection of the 1950s stuff. There is even some juvenilia and some of Ted Hughes' notes.

Like others in the Everyman's Library Pocket Poets- lovely little book bound well and includes Plaths greatest works. Dust jacket is very pleasing and it looks great on the shelf too, definitely a book that looks nice on display whether a coffee table or bookshelf.

I like the smaller size of the book. It has many great poems in it. They are seperated into sections based on different time periods of her life which I also liked.

Nicely edited gathering of Plath's work. Hardback but still small enough to carry around.

Plaths works in one handy little pocket sized book. There is nothing greater. Her best and best known work at your fingertips.
