This is selling in a very well-known toy store in Dublin for 30 Euro. I bought it on sale at 15 Euro and was very pleasantly surprised by the amount and multiple shades (grey for sharks and robots!) offered. These are approx. 1/4 the size of the very large blocks purchased individually. Even so, there is plenty and a sturdy cardboard box that carries the creations and such to Nanny's house safely. There are 24 blocks total of different colours (shades of green, orange, pink, yellow, blue, red, brown, 1 grey, 1 black and 1 white.) The light (almost day-glow) green is gorgeous and already making up 5 different reptiles, as I write this.
One set of tools is listed on the box, but we found 2 bags inside, EACH containing 1 roller, 6 cutter shapes and two cutting implements. This may have been a packaging mistake, but I'm not complaining! There is even a plastic themed sheet to place under it all (about the size and width of one large side of the box it all came in), while working or making up stories and creating characters. Well worth the £[] charged here, even with just the one set of tools!
IMPORTANT: If you are deciding between plasticine and clay, go with plasticine. No discoloured/stained fingers or nails that will rub off on fabrics for days, just bits under the nails which are easily cleaned in the shower or bath.
Am I the only one who thinks the smell of plasticine is wonderful? Sugar cookies after cooling, to be exact!
