C70 Things To Know,
By DST UK "DST" (UK) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Plantronics C70 GAP Compatible DECT Wireless Headset System - Silver (Electronics)
C70 is a great DECT headset - the latest version is noise cancelling and at time of typing the amazon pic is a voice tube version. main thing is when you register the C70 to your DECT phone base the pin number may NOT be 0000 it may be 9428 so if you cannot register your C70 try changing the pin on your phone to this number.

Having used Plantronics products for around 15 years I think they generally do a great job. This headset twinned easily with my Panasonic phones (didn't need the code tweak some mentioned) using 0000. Speech quality is good. Calls can be dialled with the phone and then the headset picks up the call as soon as you press the button after which you just drop the line on the phone. The one MAJOR flaw to this device is the charging. Plantronics has the same problem with a similar design wireless headset device I use in the office (CS70) - it doesn't always seat well in the charger and can be DOA when you pick it up to use. Then you have to wait a good couple of hours before you can be confident it will last for a decent call. In the CS70 the charging light is placed in a very difficult position to see and is an insipid orange colour so you have to check and double check it. In the C70, Plantronics have made the design even worse (if that could have been possible). It is again badly positioned and orange, but better yet, when the charge is complete there is no light at all. Of course there is also no light when it isn't being charged - well done Plantronics, which bird brain thought that one up? Youi might think this petty, but believe me, when you have picked up the headset knowing you will be on a conference call for several hours, and find that its U/S and you will now have to cradle a handset to your ears you will know of my frustration. Aside of this, its a great bit of kit.

Good Headset but it does have some limitations if using for long conference calls (as a home worker),

I purchased this through LiGo The product arrived within 48 hrs well packaged and as described.
I paired the headset with my new Panasonic KX-TG8422EB Colour DECT Twin Phone With Answer Machine - Black The PIN number for me was 0000. I am using this to work from home as part of my job. I spend a long part of the day on conference calls so it is perfect for multi tasking whilst waiting for the meeting to start. However, there are some issues.(see below) Positives are; 1. Extremely comfortable headset that is light and easily swapped between different ears. 2. Easy to answer phone when it rings, you just press a button on the side of headset. 3. Easy to set up. However, read the instruction manual. 4. For a home worker, it is comfy and makes it possible to multi task when not active on a call. 5. Great clarity \ noise quality. It is a good headset but could be improved, my only criticisms are as follows; 1. It is not that easy to put the headset on mute or off mute. You have to hold down the Volume lower button for about 3 seconds. This is tricky on an active call when you want to speak or someone asks you a question it takes 3 seconds at least before you can take the phone off mute and speak. 2. Once you are on a call and you have been on for a while, it is hard to tell if you are on mute. It does say that when you mute the call it does 3 mid tone beeps followed by one every 15 seconds. Then when you un mute it does 3 low tones. It's really hard to tell though and nothing on the headset tells you. It would be better if it had a RED light when on mute and green light when NOT on mute. This would stop you saying anything when you are NOT on mute. 3. The lowest volume setting is really loud, it would be better if you could go lower. Not sure if anyone else has found this. Loud is very loud. You will not have problems hearing people :-)
