Having had a messy and expensive shopping spree for a Bluetooth landline phone, I had to buy one of these to resolve my headset issues. My Bluetooth home phone refused to connect to various headsets; even though I was advised otherwise. Anyway......I resorted to using DECT connections with the Plantronics C65 and wish I'd started this way in the first place. The internal transfer process from handset to headset for an outbound call takes practice, but once mastered it's a great tool. Answering calls with the headset is a breeze by simply pressing the switch on the set itself. I was getting deskbound with calls and this has remobilised my life. Sound quality is the usual Plantronics standard and totally acceptable in an office/home environment. I regularly wander round the house/garage wearing it, and no dropouts have been experienced. I'm delighted.

I purchased my c65 last year and cannot fault this product. It is totally perfect..I do have to admit that i spend an incredible amount of time on the telephone to my family but now i ring them so that i can clean my house or complete all my ironing while chatting, housework just doesnt seem a chore anymore. Worth every penny.

Verified Purchase
Just bought the headset and it seems a great product but as suggested, I bought a Uniband Headband. Anyone else should not bother as the headset already comes with the headband included.

If you look at the compatibility list on the Plantronics website, most of the current Panasonic GAP DECT 'phones are not listed. There are none of the KX-TG ranges shown there.

My 'phone system is KX-TG8120E, but I took the gamble of buying the C65 anyway, thinking that Plantronics had perhaps just not tested it with the latest Panasonic ranges.

But I just came off the 'phone to their (helpful - add a star for this !) support department, and they confirmed that there is a compatibilty issue with some of the latest Panasonic 'phones, including mine.

The compatibility issue may or may not be too serious depending how you want to use it. It just doesn't ring on incoming calls. But it will ring when trying to transfer a call (or as an intercom, same thing really). If you can hear the bell of another handset ringing, you can still pick up an incoming call on the C65. But it's useless if you wander away from other 'phones, you won't know when someone calls you.

Plantronics blame the new Panasonic 'phones for this small problem. You could say "they would, wouldn't they", but in this case I suspect it's true !

Apart from that it's o.k., sound quality isn't exactly sparkling (unlike the Panasonic system which is spectacular), but it's perfectly usable.

This is an amazing bit of kit! The call quality is fantastic, very clear and the noise cancellation part works very well.
I have taken calls via the headset and made a call to someone else wearing the same headset and am very impressed. You can transfer calls between phone and headset but this is only one way! Pairing the headset is simple and is described with the instruction leaflet. However, the simplicity of this is very much dependent on what type of phone system you already have. If you're not sure, it's best to contact Plantronics themselves. They are very kind, patient and exceptionally helpful.

The headband is great. It's lightweight so you don't notice that you have it on. It doesn't really contribute that much to "headband hair" either. I did try the ear hook that came with the headset-these are interchangeable, but found it was too big for my ears and kept falling off. The headband allows the wearer to adjust the headset for either right or left ear use. This is done by a simple click and click process to firstly unclick the headset you turn it to the furthest pivot point and it comes free from the unit. Change ear position and click back into place.

There are full instructions with the headset. Charging normally takes +/- 3 hours for a complete charge and standby time is something rediculous like 90 hours!

Thumbs up guys on this one!!!!

The C65 works well and is comfortable. I like it a lot. However it is not loud enough to use in an open-plan area.

A great product. Very comfortable (lots of wearing options). Quality of incoming and outgoing speach very good. When making calls it is necessary to dial on a regular handset and then transfer to the headset; just means you have to ask people to wait a few seconds whilst you transfer. Incoming calls can be answered directly from the headset.

Good range. Battery life (at least, when new - mine is only 3 weeks old) is very good; beeps through headset speaker when battery is low - you have five minutes to conclude your call at this time as you cannot transfer back!

Cons: I can't work out how to use the mute function reliably; would be good to have a visible indicator on the headset (flashing light for example) so that you can check that you're on mute!

I've been using my home phone more and more for business calls with overseas contacts and need to use my computer at the same time. Getting a rather stiff neck one day convinced me it was time to switch over to a headset; after all I use one all the time on Skype so why not with a landline?

If you've already got a DECT phone, you're in luck. If not, you might want to try the phone I got with it, the Panasonic KXTCD820. Just to be clear, this headset will only work if you've got a DECT base station. All you do is sync the two of them up by holding down the mute button and waiting for the beeps (a lot like pairing a bluetooth headset). If you're getting any problems make sure your DECT base station PIN is 0000.

Once set up, there are two ways to play. One, if your phone rings you just put the headset on and click answer to pick up. Two, you dial using your existing phone keypad and then transfer the call over.

In use, the headset is light and comfortable. Sound quality is excellent and the batteries last plenty of time. I have the handy charging stand on my desk so I don't need to get up to answer the phone, and I haven't found sound quality varies at all as I wonder around the house making tea and doing other things whilst talking. Nice piece of kit, as you'd expect from Plantronics.
