The Discovery 975 has a single, one-touch button, which can be used for powering on/off and call answer/end. The headset also has last number redial, call reject, volume control and mute options. There are voice prompts for mute on/off, battery low/recharge battery and lost connection. It also offers voice activated dialing, if supported by your handset. The Discovery 975 has a subtle UI with white glow instead of blue flashing lights.

As soon as you begin to pair the earpiece with your Bluetooth-enabled phone or device, you'll immediately see what we mean. For starters, universal connectivity virtually assures that your device is compatible with the Discovery 975. And thanks to Plantronics' QuickPair technology, the steps on your Bluetooth device consist of turning on your device's Bluetooth feature and following the commands of your earpiece. That's it. Activate the Multipoint technology to easily pair your earpiece with a second device, so you can stay connected with one headset for home and at the office.

The Discovery 975 and case

Another great idea is the charging case. Not only does it store and protect your earpiece, but it is also equipped with a rechargable battery which will charge the Discovery 975 UP TO THREE times, providing up to 15 hours of talktime and an amazing 21 days of standby time; great for when you are on the move. There is an LCD which shows battery and earpiece charge levels and bluetooth connectivity. The eject button makes it easy to take your earpiece in and out and there is a case strap so that you can attach it to your bag and take your Discovery 975 everywhere.

The Discovery 975 is built on dual-mic AudioIQ2 technology. Two microphones simultaneously capture your voice and cancel unwanted background noise. The earpiece's 20-band equalizer delivers rich, natural voice quality, so you can be heard clearly on the other end, the way you were meant to be heard. Meanwhile AudioIQ2 automatically adjusts incoming calls to clear, comfortable levels, so you can easily hear your caller and features echo cancellation for extra clarity.

For less than perfect outside conditions, three layers of WindSmart protection keeps unwanted wind noise from interfering with your calls. Grooved vents in the earpiece's design deflect the wind, a layer of GORE® acoustic fabric blocks the wind, and electronic filters remove the wind noise, keeping your calls clear and wind-free. There is also a sidetone, which lets you know when it is windy.

Recharge using the case charger

The Discovery 975 is comfortable for constant use all day long. It features Plantronics patented gel eartips. The ear tips are made from flexible silicone, making it easy to put on or take off. They are supplied in three sizes to provide a stable, comfortable fit and can be worn with glasses. The Discovery 975's lightweight easy on / off design is ideal for day to day use as part of a busy lifestyle; the device only weighs 8 grams.

Battery life is an important factor when choosing an earpiece, and the Discovery 975 has this point covered. With a standby time of up to 1 week, and up to 5 hours talk time, you can be sure that you will always be connected. The Discovery 975 only takes 1.5 hours to fully charge from the AC charger!

Setting Up

Thanks to Plantronics' QuickPair technology, setting up the headset is quick and intuitive. The Discovery 975 supports Bluetooth 2.1 and EDR (Enhanced Data Rate) and Secure Simple Pairing (SSP), making it compatible with Bluetooth-enabled devices, including phones, PDAs, and laptop computers. The headset also features Plantronics' multipoint technology, which lets you pair and answer calls on two different Bluetooth devices. This means you can quickly and easily connect the headset to two phones, such as a Smartphone and a personal phone, or a phone and a Bluetooth-enabled device, such as a laptop that you use to make Internet calls. Just choose the combination that best complements your workflow and pair both devices with your headset.
