Book Description

11 Feb 2014 Planet Urth
More than two hundred years into the future, human beings are an endangered species. The planet has been battered by war, its inhabitants plagued by disease and death. Few humans survived and remained unaffected. Most changed dramatically and evolved into something else entirely. Irrevocable alterations caused by chemical warfare have created a new species. North America is in ruins and has been overtaken. Humanity has fallen at the hands of mutants known as Urthmen. Seventeen year-old Avery is alive and unchanged. But she has not been immune to the harshness of the new world. She has lived on the run for much of her life, in terror. After fleeing the only refuge she’s known for much of her life, Avery, along with her sister June and new friends, Will, Oliver and Riley forge through the forest to uncharted territory in search of a better life, in search of other survivors. But Avery soon learns that life beyond the woods is far worse than she ever imagined. She finds that safety does not exist for human beings in a world run by Urthmen. Hope seems futile. But Avery refuses to surrender hope and chooses, instead, to push forward and move her group into the heart of danger, to seek out more humans. Will she and the others survive their journey into the savage lands of Planet Urth? Find out in this heart pumping second installment of the Planet Urth series.

3.0 out of 5 stars Urthfuture 17 Aug 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
You are subtly drawn into a post apocalyptic world where Urthmen , Lurkers and mutated wildlife abounds. Humans are a minority and hunted by all. Avery and June live a solitary life until, while hunting, Avery discovers other humans.

This is a carefully targeted book towards teens, however if you are young minded ( like myself) it's not a bad read and its free. The story just gets going with fight scenes and a love interest when it finishes, I guess that's an old fashioned cliff hanger and an encouragement to read the next book. Which I will be giving a chance.

A series of post apocalyptic books beginning where the world has changed; man no longer reigns supreme, but is hunted by mutated versions of humans, destroyed by virus and bacterial infection and by monstrous animals, rabbits have teeth and bite. The heroine battles through, initially believing that she and her sister are the only people left. Imagine her surprise when she meets new people. After a disaster they band together and look for a place of safety. The four books chart their journey and their adventures. The books are well written and enjoyable.

I would recommend this book to anyone one who likes mystery, adventure and ruthlessness. This book is about a thrilling adventure when two kids are left to fend for themselves after there one parent passes away, Urthmen are out to slaughter all of humans to their very existence Lurkers in the forests are gaining in on them. Until one day they find what they have only dreamed of until it turns into a gripping, hideous nightmare! While they have to face the open world or will the hideous creatures ever give in?

I enjoyed this book immensely and am really looking forward to reading the rest of the series. I do not recommend this book to anyone 0 to 9 as it is on a mediocre violence scale. Yogscast and Spencer Pratt the best minecraft trolling java platform for my own personal finance committee on minecraft files in Hogwarts eating habits and Spencer willy bum bum bum hole is poop and I have no soul and I like you Emmy award-winning author of the best minecraft files to reading your family guy

3.0 out of 5 stars Has potential 30 Aug 2014

Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Reads a little as part of a story. A lot of the content focusses on how scary the world now is, but not a lot of story line included -two girls alone post apocalypse, constantly trying to find food amid monsters. Meet boy and his family (whose parents immediately get slaughtered), then all the children go off to find more adventure in the next book. I would read more of these books, as the characters were likeable, but only at the right price.
