I was terribly disappointed with this series of DVD's. The extremely poor quality of the images and sound is the not even comparable to a normal VHS videoband recorded from a TV show. It is much worse than that.

But the worst thing was that it is a documentary made in the 70's!!!.. Totally unaceptable, considering that there is no indication of this fact anywhere (not in Amazon, not even in the DVD box, not on the DVD itself). The release date of the DVD is said to be 2005. But the production date is at least 30 years old.

It is the worst DVD I have ever bought. The information is a little bit interesting. The narration is also terrible.. Believe me, if you buy it you will regret it the rest of your life.

I bought this collection and read the below review before watching it and got quite a shock. YES, it was made in the 70's and rather dated but I found the content fascinating and the presentation excellent. YES the picture and sound quality is not up to DVD standards, but I found it perfectly acceptable. It is more science oriented - sort of the once excellent Horizon style - than than the BEEB version of the same title (which is incomparably more slick and entertaining). I dock one star only because of it's age. Buy it if you are interested in science and not just entertainment.
