This toy is made of all wood - I don't know what the other reviewer was talking about. It's a nice toy that children of many ages can play with.

This Noah's Ark by Plan Toys is overall, really great. I bought it for my 11 month old and 3 year old. The 11 month old really enjoys putting the animals in, taking them out, etc. The ark is a little "young" for my 3 year old though. This is a bit problematic as the toy is marketed toward "3 and up." So the concept of the toy is more age appropriate for, I would say 9 months to 3 years, not over 3 years. The problem is that the animals and Noah and his wife are quite small, smaller than I expected. The smallest pieces are the little birds, measuring about 1/2 in. x 1 & 1/2 in.-pretty small! So I took the birds out. Noah And his wife are also very small. So, fun for little guys if you take the very small pieces out! The craftsmanship is beautiful though, very simple and sleek looking. The ark itself is made with 100% recycled rubberwood, not rubber foam. The picture that Amazon shows is an older version that was made with rubber foam. The new ones, thankfully are made with wood and that is what Amazon is selling now. The color of the ark is more of a sky blue than a true blue like the picture shows, with an orange roof, very nice looking. Overall, I'm very glad we purchased this toy. We have lots of Plan Toys and are always pleased with the care they put into their products and with the fact that their paints and what not are safe, even if mouthed by little guys. So, I would recommend this product. It's a very cute and fun addition to any quality, wooden toy collection.

Fell in love with this toy. My issue with it is that the top part (looks like a little "house" on the boat) comes off easily and is impossible for a child to put back on, as you are matching tiny holes with tiny pegs. The orange roof also comes off the house part. Annoying.
It is also hard to reach inside the structure, and to really play with the actual ark portion, as the doors and windows into the ark are so tiny.
This is a beautiful addition to a child's room, but is not the most kid-friendly. Not sure what the wonderful designers at Plan were really thinking, as we typically love their stuff.
