This xylophone looks great. With 5 notes you would expect it to be tuned to some kind of pentatonic scale - but no!!! It is in fact tuned to a major 7th chord which means it is practically impossible to play any recognisable tune on it. In spite of the manufactures claim that it is "melodious" it makes a very unmusical "clunk" when played. I contacted the manufacturer and was told that it was really a toy to develop hand-eye coordination, not a musical instrument.

I bought this for my 14 month old son. He enjoys bashing it with the beater. Unfortunately it is not very tuneful and you cannot play any recognisable tune on it. Looks lovely and well made though. Good toy, poor musical instrument.

DO NOT BUY this xylophone unless you want to damage your child's musical development. Whilst the xylophone looks nice it is completely out of tune, and I do not mean just being half a tone out. The first two keys of the scale go up and are sort of in tune, but then the scale goes down by about two notes and then up again by about three notes. It is simply awful and if I could I would give it no star at all.

Lovely Xylophone
Really nice little Xylophone. We bought it for our 8 month old Grandson and he loved it from the start. Bit hit and miss (!) but very easy for him to hit.

Excellent xylophone
This is a nicely tuned xylophone, unlike many on the market. Looks great and is very safe for younger children - no sharp corners.
