I purchased these plain white table tennis balls after reading glowing reviews on Amazon. I ran them through a few tests, and will attempt to accurately describe my findings below.

The sphericity of the balls is satisfyingly irregular, as advertised by my peers.

I was happy to note that the balls are indeed unsuitable for playing a standard game of table tennis. On the other hand, they did make for decent conversation afterwards, and their physical properties could presumably be debated at length over appropriate amounts of alcohol. Among other things, the sound effects produced while engaging in play vary with the orientation of the ball, which helps reduce the monotony of an otherwise unexciting sport.

The balls can be juggled successfully, albeit rather briefly and without any satisfaction, or visibility, in cascade and reverse cascade patterns, as well as in an even briefer and more disappointing four ball asynchronous fountain pattern. I have not yet attempted other patterns with them, but I assume the balls would behave consistently.

Upon discussing the product with a fellow engineer, we concluded that we could drop a single ball vertically onto a horizontal surface conceptually divided into circular sectors, and then use its subsequent direction of travel to generate random numbers, for example to use in picking lottery numbers.

Although previous reviews suggest otherwise, the four balls I removed from the cardboard box are appropriately unbranded and can blend in with similarly white objects. To avoid follow-up questions, I obtained tactile confirmation of there being two more quasi-spherical items inside.

The cardboard box lends itself very well to storing other types of items, such as coins, pens, jelly beans etc.

I wasn't expecting olympic standard table tennis balls with this price but this is a rip off. The balls bounce hardly and they are way heavy to be played. The thickness of the plastic is not even around the ball so ball can make really strange backlashes. Don't bother to buy this product mine are already in the recycling bin.

Although I had picked up these balls for use with the table-tennis set that is gathering a layer of dust in our garage, they only came to be treated to some action shortly after my wife and I witnessed a rather nimble display in a London variety show. This inspirational event was by no means comparable to a royal command performance in the London Palladium, but it certainly showcased the full range of Soho's local talents! What luck that I should already happen to own a job-lot of 'cannon-fodder' for Doreen to set about rehearsing her newly acquired hobby! Anyhow, during the past few weeks she has been honing her talents at a truly prodigious rate. Whether my mature, portly wife's routine will achieve an equivalent level of success to that of the athletic twenty-something Phillipina girl (who was so warmly received by an appreciative West End crowd) only time will tell. However, in my opinion Doreen has reached a far more notable level of attainment. With the ability to deploy eight successive high-velocity projectiles before needing to pause (in order to reload her hairy 'magazine'), her act will surely cause a sensation!

PS. The best part of all is her encore! I shan't give the game away by detailing this spectacular 'piece de resistance' in full, but let's just say this: If the England team were to find themselves with a chance to steal victory via a last-minute conversion from just inside the touch line, they could do a lot better than by opting to employ the boot of Johnny Wilkinson!

There was only one reason i ordered these and that was because it said Plain White (LOGO FREE) and they are not they have HB SPORT Written across them in black. I did not want them for Table Tennis they where for use in model making and other things. Gave them to the Cat and went to town & got some in Pound Land.I should do that more often i'm getting lazy.Would have had the proper thing just as quick and been £1.11 richer, less annoyed too

I bought this for my cat to play with as she loves chasing these around but keeps losing them. These were round and unbranded but I can't comment on what they are like for playing table tennis. My cat definitely loves them so it's full marks from me.

Bought these for crafting seeing as they state they are sport logo free but has the words 'HB sports' written on them. Pretty disappointed.

The "special quality" description acually means "not spherical", Only buy if you need them for minature rugby. Very very disapointed.

It seems these balls are very good if you want to use them in a lottery machine, or throw them around the room, but as table tennis balls, they are useless. The bounce is highly uneven and they are far too heavy. The product should clearly state they are the size of table tennis balls but can't be used to play table tennis!
