Product Description

Product Description

Your mother Columbia cries out as foreigners and anarchists threaten her virtue - will you not take up arms and defend her? 1912. The magnificent floating city of Columbia, intended to be a shining symbol of American exceptionalism , has been disavowed by the very nation that created it. Part world's fair and part battleship, Columbia has erupted into civil war as two sides vie for control of the most important city on Earth. BioShock Infinite: the Siege of Columbia board game is based on the exciting BioShock Infinite video game. Set during the same series of events as the video game, players take on the role of the Founders and Vox Populi factions, desperately seeking to seize control of Columbia. Players will command mobs of combatants and set them against their opponents, striving to lay claim to the city's bitterly contested districts. Challenging objectives offer tempting advantages, as each side uses their might, influence and resources to claim victory. The game features the Sky-line, Booker & Elizabeth which will force players to reconsider their strategies as the two cut a path through the burning city and powerful leaders such as the nihilistic Daisy Fitzroy, or the terrifying Songbird. As resources will be limited will you overwhelm your enemies with superior numbers, or will you focus on controlling the conditions of the war? BioShock Infinite: the Siege of Columbia forces players to make tough decisions at every turn.

Unique 18 Oct. 2013

The game is very unique Ill give it that. It has a slight learning curve but once you get the rules down it goes quite smoothly. My 12 year old son figured it out. Although he's not the best at games like this he does find it fun. It is pricy for what it is, but if you loved the video game and also happen to remember what board games are, then pick it up its not half bad.

Update: I probably should have mentioned that there is no slot system for the cards or tokens. Kinda annoying. I made something to fit in the box to separate the tokens and the cards.

Two-player area control 17 Nov. 2014
By Tony - Published on Amazon.com
This is a reasonably simple area control game with some nice mechanics backing up that core gameplay.

The best part is how each of the cards in the game can be played for 1 of 3 or 4 purposes. Each card has a vote, production, and combat value and sometimes another separate action and can be used for any of these purposes. This also presents an interesting hand management aspect as you don't get to draw new cards during your turn so using the cards for one purpose gives you less options for the others.

One thing I was disappointed with is there aren't as many cards as I originally thought there would be in these decks so after a couple rounds you've seen most, if not all of them. The bigger gripes I had with the game were a. that it was two-player only and b. the board felt a bit claustrophobic.

Yes, by the way, I know it can be played with 2 or 4 players but 4-players is really just 2 players with 2 people making up each player. And an area control game that only plays 2 players is kind of missing the point in my opinion. On top of which one of the worst mistakes you can make in a worker placement game is make the board feel too crowded. ESPECIALLY when there's only ever two players on the board.

These two things keep me from loving the game but I do really like it. The ability to vote for events at the start of each round is pretty cool and competing for victory point achievements gives each player variable direction to make the game feel a bit fresh every game. There's even a 3rd force in the game that can randomly affect the players.

Also, the board, cards, and plastic pieces are very attractive. And while I've never played Bioshock Infinite, there is so much going on in service to theme I would wager they took very good care of the licensed property.

Really cool 1 Jan. 2014
By Laura Lambert - Published on Amazon.com
Durability:    Fun:
This game is definitely worth the money, but I am mainly coming from a die-hard fan's point of view. Actually, let me backtrack and say that it really is fun and it isn't too hard to learn if you're willing to learn (and, I'm assuming, if you're buying a game like this then you're definitely willing to learn). I found the video advertised on the box to be very helpful, and it's interesting and involved. Going back to my first statement though, the reason I say it's worth it from a fan's point of view is because it is a treasure trove of collectors items, even if you never even attempt to play it. So much artwork, and the cards and little pieces, it's all just really awesome.

It was so nice to have such a pleasant customer service experience 22 Aug. 2014

This is really a review more for the seller than the game. I purchased the game as a gift, and when it was opened there was one small piece missing. I immediately contacted the seller, (Scorpion RPG), who got back to me very quickly, replying that they'd either send me a replacement piece or an entirely new game. It was so nice to have such a pleasant customer service experience! They have been amazing and I would buy from them again in a heartbeat. We got the new piece, and now we can really enjoy the game!

I will say as a side note, this is an intense board game as far as learning it goes. Took two full grown adults several hours and a 40 min. YouTube instructional video. It seems like it will be a lot of fun once you get the rules down, though.
