Format: Paperback
The book explores the concept of place in very specific ways. This edition has a new preface by E Relph written at 2007, which is a quite inspring review on the old edition. Highly recommended for architectural students.

for a better world 28 Dec. 1999
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
This is a wonderful book for the conscientious planner, designer, architect, or developer, who is not only interested in the physical, but also concerned about creating a great place where one can truly "be." It is a book that begins to explain what Christopher Alexander calls the "quality without a name."

With all the publicity around Auge's 'non-places' I was very surprised to find this written so long before that - it puts things into perspective.
