I bought this book a few months after being amazed by the Eboy book. I enjoyed the hour of flicking through, but after that I was left feeling a bit disappointed. Unlike Eboy, there was no "stickiness", I didn't feel the urge to flicking through it again.
Most of it is eye-candy and presented in a good manner, which is what I expected. You do get a run down of all the contributors - what they do, projects and URLs etc.
On the plus side of things, over the 200 pages it does show a wide variety of pixel-art styles, rather than just being restricted to one particular style. And there aren't that many pixel-art books out there. The book comes with a rather intruiging CD with over 100 pixel icons and images. Hence 3 stars instead of 2.
On the downside one might feel they've paid for all the "alternative" plastic packaging, which only ends up in the bin anyway. Plus the fact the page size is less than A4. Hence 3 stars instead of 4.
My advice is that if you're addicted to pixel-art, they buy it to feed your imagination, else you can probably live without it.
In either case, invest your money into the Eboy book :)
