Ordered on the 4th August and received on the 7th August. It was well packaged internally (each item in its own bubble wrap, inside a reasonable quality box) and sent in a bubble wrap envelope. Great service from UK Highland Photography.

As indicated by others, this is a well made grip/battery pack and fits easily and neatly on the the 5D Mark III. Almost makes the camera feel more comfortable than without it.

In addition to the comments of others, the buttons on the battery grip include - on the back - on/off (for the battery grip) and the multi-controller; and, AF On, AE Lock and AF Point selection. On the front (when tipped in to portrait mode) are the shutter release, m-fn and main dial. All are well set out and feel natural in use. Re-viewing pictures in portrate view is a snip as all buttons are within easy reach and even the camera buttons feel more natural.

All-in-all a well made, good looking battery grip that is in complete keeping with the appearance, feel and style of the Canon 5D Mk III.

Price is exceptional! purchased mine for £71.94 and after using a Canon specific model on a 5D Mk II for 2 years, I am sorry I did not try a replacement model earlier.

I would recommend this to all D5 Mk III users.

First let me say that the build and finish quality of this product is excellent. It's just a grip, so it won't feel as solid as the actual camera and the shutter button feels a bit less responsive, but it's nice and sturdy. Besides, from what I hear even the Canon grip is not perfect. So far so good. Really nice.

But the deal-breaker for me was the battery drain. Ever since I've owned a 5D Mark III I've been amazed at how long the Canon battery lasts. It lasts forever, even with the camera on in standby.

Not when I had the grip attached. The battery was drained empty the next day. I don't care if there are ways to manage (taking out batteries as soon as you put your camera aside), I want simplicity and peace of mind, not another thing to worry about.

I also tried the grip with 6 brand new Duracell Ultra Power AA batteries. The camera's battery indicator came on briefly showing empty and then turned off. The camera didn't even attempt to start (and yes, I triple-checked connections and the batteries polarity etc). Something is off with this grip (maybe just my copy). It consumes power. For what? What is it doing? Odd. Back it goes. No longer my problem.

Great battery grip, it has all the features and feel of a Canon original item at under half the price.
I live in Jersey Channel Islands and it only took 2 working days for delivery, I'm impressed.

Many thanks for your service.

First off i must say that this grip looks and feels superb much like the MKIII. But after having it for a couple of days i noticed that i cannot change the iso and exposure settings when the grip is switched to ON position.
If i switch off the grip the camera functions as normal .The camera is running the latest firmware as of May 2013.

I can't understand why this is happening but it will have to be sent back ive been told by Amazon that i will have to receive a refund and then i can re order another if i wish.

As stated above the Grip looks superb but just doesnt work properly >

This product is very worthy of a place alongside the 5D m3. It fits the camera superbly and looks as if it really belongs. The style and finish compliment the camera and it handles beautifully. I reccomend this as a very suitable alternative to the much more expensive Canon brand.

I bought this battery grip from somewhere else, and was initially very impressed. Within a couple of months of use, I really started to notice some major issues with this product. First of all, the AF and shutter release often won't respond when using the buttons on the grip, so would end up reverting to the standard buttons on the camera, rendering the grip useless (other than to provide a bit of extra support underneath the camera). Then, I became completely unable to change ISO, etc on the camera. Fortunately, I was next to some CVP staff at the time, who pointed out that this is due to the grip. No grip, no problem. I'm now trying to return this product to the original seller and am replacing it with the genuine BG-E11.

I read the other reviewers comments and bought this as a result for my 5D III. I was very impressed !! I have used a 5D II for 3 years with a Canon grip and to be honest this is as good as a Canon one at a fraction of the price - £67 versus typically £300.

The snag was I used it at a wedding for it's first outing and after about 2 hours it died !!

No matter what I tried it was dead ... a total pain. I am very disappointed as it looked the business, fitted perfectly and weighs less than the Canon one - but is no use if not reliable !! So back it goes for a refund. I could order another but will go for the Canon one. I may have been unlucky but can't afford for something like this to happen when I photograph weddings. Ah well ....
