5.0 out of 5 stars Great item at a great price. 9 Jun 2012
Verified Purchase
Decided to buy this after reading reviews. I contacted the seller to make sure that it worked with my Panasonic GH1 and GH2. Within an hour, I had my reply.
The item was delivered before the expected delivery so the experience with the seller (Highland Photography) was great and will buy from them again.
As for the item, fitted batteries, cabled the remote to the camera and within 5 minutes, was shooting remote pictures. Great kit at a great price, especially when you consider the price of the panasonic brand remote, and with the facility of using the same remote trigger for numerous units (with setting the same channel on remote and trigger), I'll probably purchase another so that I can set off another camera, with one remote to get images or videos from a different angle.
For the price, both the seller and the unit are highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Backyard birdwatching 27 July 2012
Verified Purchase
Delighted to find this bit of kit for my new Panasonic G3. Even a 77 year-old female can fit it up!!
No longer mobile enough for real birding, I can now record my garden visitors close up without scaring them off. Had a little trouble with the power button on the receiver - green light permanently on so unit didn't work. Tried spinning the batteries around to ensure proper contact, then all was OK.
Excellent value for money and much less intrusive than my cable release.
My photographic club summer project is street photography so I see potential for setting the camera on a pavement cafe table and sipping coffee with my hand on the remote in my pocket. I think that's legal if no kiddies around!

4.0 out of 5 stars Electric cable release 23 May 2012

The cable release works very well and you don't have to be at the end of a cable. You can be in any direction and a reasonable distance away from the camera. Ideal for birds in the garden.

5.0 out of 5 stars Watch out for lead connection!!!!! 1 Nov 2012
By J.C.

Seems to work very well with my Panasonic GH2. However very important to connect the lead the
right way round as it is not reversible. The double pole straight mini jack plugs into the remote module-
The triple pole right angle mini jack plugs into the camera.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice bit of kit. 28 Jun 2012
Verified Purchase
Despite a problem with the first remote this was very quickly replaced by return first class post and the new one works well. It is easy to check all is working by using the shutter release on the receiver sitting in the hot-shoe of my Lumix G3 - nice touch.

5.0 out of 5 stars Valauable aid to digital photography 17 April 2012
By Chris

The remote shutter release works very well, straight from the box, provided the connecting cable between the camera and receiver is plugged in correctly. The angled plug goes into the camera.

My camera is a Panasonic Lumix G2. I've just taken some pleasing close-ups of wild birds on my bird feeder. The remote is ideal, because it's possible to set the camera up, and allow time to let the birds become familiar with it. Before use, the camera must be set so that it doesn't default to sleep mode. I used a 200mm lens with extra optical zoom, and the camera was around 1.5 metres away from the feeder, so a goldfinch just filled the frame. The only problem was that the noise of the shutter startled the birds.

It is possible to watch the birds from a suitable distance, in my case from within the house about 10 metres away, and press the shutter release at the right moment. I'm delighted with the resulting shots, and I plan to be more ambitious in the future. My next purchases will be a portable hide for myself and a shower-proof cover for the camera.

I can certainly recommend the remote, tho' I haven't used all its functions, which more or less replicate those on the camera shutter settings.

5.0 out of 5 stars Remote Release 21 Dec 2011
By Maggie
Verified Purchase
An excellent product, much cheaper than the Panasonic branded one, and just as good as far as I can tell. Finally, I got half-decent picture of the moon using it! You need to be sure to use the cable the right way round, otherwise nothing happens, but that apart it's all straightforward. Good fast support from the supplier too, when I couldn't figure that small problem out.

5.0 out of 5 stars Does what it says it does well 28 Sep 2013
I recently purchased two cable releases for mine and a friend's FZ200. One worked with mine, but the second unit didn't. It was right I should give my friend the working unit, and I arranged with the seller for a replacement. This was done without quibble, but the replacement unit didn't work either. Although one unit worked with my FZ200, I wasn't going to risk another, even a different branded cable remote, and looked at wireless alternatives. This unit looked very reasonably priced compared to the manufacturer's original.

Although the remote is inexpensive, it doesn't look cheap or shoddy, and came with instructions in understandable English (and Chinese) in a standard sized font which wasn't difficult at all to read. They are, however, not precise in the proper orientation of the connecting cable, although by carefully studying the image it is possible to make out which connector (it is the smaller, rounded straight, three section one) that fits into the receiver unit, with the angled connector going into the camera's remote socket. Nor is it stated what the four small toggle switches are for, save for ensuring that their positions on the transmitter and receiver are the same. They set the units to the transmitting channel. Perm any 4 from 4 (upper and lower settings) and you get 16, which is how many channels the units will respond to. Just ensure that with whichever channel you select the units mirror each other.

Why might you need 16? It enables you to set a channel frequency that will not interfere with another wireless transmitter that may be in the vicinity. If you are the only one, it really doesn't matter which you choose.

In use, I found the remote easy and a joy.
