I bought this Item for use with my Nikon D7000, works great and easy to set up, but just a few tips that might help future purchasers.
The connecting cable is very very tight fit into the GPS slot on the camera, I broke 2 conectors within a short space of time, luck has it i managed to get the first on out of camera, (snapped it of by knocking it while carrying camera on tripod, my fault). second broke as i tried to pull it out after use( very tight fit as i said).I liked the product otherwise, so i bought 2 spare cables, before use i sprayed the camera end of the cable with 3in1 silicone spray lubricant, let it dry and resprayed again, and put it in the camera. It went in and came out a lot easier and gets even better with use. also do not pull hard on the connector rather tease it back out by pushing partly against the camera body, job done no further probs, and having a spare is piece of mind. the remote handset is not overly robust so just treat with care, auto focuses from remote so you can wait for as long as you like once you've set up the shot before taking it and works from a good way off. Nice little piece of kit only 4 stars cos of the build of handset and conector tightness, but for price not bad at all, and works well. When I first saw this item at this price I thought it was too good to be true. I sent an email to the seller who responded immediately at 8pm at night. I went to a track to measure out the distance the camera would shoot at. I was able to reach 110 metres. Just slightly above the 100metres it said it can do. I suppose this would be due to flat conditions and no other interference in the area (mobiles, cordless phones, towers, walls) The set up is very easy to complete. Instrucions tell you everything you need to know except the codes inside of the battery drawers. If another remote system is in the area it may be due to another code being the same in the area. Easily changed by alternating the codes ensuring the remote and receiver have the same codes. The cord that attaches the receiver and the camera is a snug fit. I have not had any problems taking it out but do be mindful of the tightness and pulling it out. Ye, this item does shoot around walls and through walls. I was able to snap a photo from the second flor and 3 rooms over from where the camera sat. I hope everyone is as satisfied as I am with this item.

This device is a must for any slow shutter speed work. It does exactly what it says on the box, and is sold by Amazon at a really good price.

The connector plug is VERY tight, but I think this is a common problem with similar devices. However, I followed the excellent advice from another reviewer, and used a little WD40 spray before use. I gave the plug one dose, let it dry and then sprayed again. For me, it worked like a charm. This was, of course, at my own risk and may have voided any warranty. However, I managed to pull off the plug off a previous version, so for me, it was worth the risk.

When this arrived I hooked it up to my d3100, set up the channels correctly and nothing, the camera did not focus or take pictures, after playing about with the connections I got it working and it works very well! More than happy with the item. will come in handy for those perfect shots on holiday!

Got this lovely piece of kit 2 days after the order, very impressed indeed for standard delivery,as soon as as I'd given my battery a quick charge (Nikon D7000) I slammed the batteries in and gave it a test run, brilliant! Single shot, Multiple Shot, Bulb and Timer, all worked perfectly, highly impressed with the kit, the trigger is a bit light but looks well made and the batteries add a nice bit of weight to it to hold. Even messing around with it, I've shot from about 30 meters through 2 walls! possibilities are indeed endless with this, highly recommended. The bulb feature i do like, not having to hold down the trigger for the amount of time, just press once to open and for however long you wish (Nikon up to 30 minutes) and just press it again when you wish it to close, very easy, very simple, if you're looking for a wireless trigger, get this one hands down!

I have a D3100 Nikon camera. For over 2 years I have wanted my camera to be able to take big family pictures - with me in, but have unfortunately listened to all the horror stories from disgruntled reviewers. With Christmas around the corner and lots of potential for lots of family pictures I finally bit the bullet and handed over my £25(ish). So far this has to be one of the best £25 I have ever spent!

To describe the product as easy to use would be to complicate things!!! In the box were 8 items: 1x remote, 1x receiver, 1x cable, 4x batteries, 1x destruction manual (which does have the usual translation issues but is understandable). For those who remain uncertain like I, a quick description of what I did:
1. Removed things from box
2. Placed 2 Batteries into the receiver and 2 in the remote
3. Connect the receiver to the camera via the flash dock on top of the camera and tighten
4. Connect the cable to the receiver and to the camera (both went in and came out without problem)
5. Pose for picture and click the remote. You will hear the camera auto-focus and can take multiple shots depending on camera setting

It really is that simple and has been great fun so far!

Of course some have also grumbled about the build quality. To a point this is valid. Both the remote and receiver are very light weight and hollow sounding plastic. But my thinking is that if you are thinking about buying this then you are probably experimenting with cameras and kit rather than being a true pro. That certainly applies to me but I think that it looks fine, it definitely serves its purpose and from the trials so far it works. It also does what no genuine Nikon product seems to offer for this particular model so in a sense it is far cheaper than having to buy a new camera!!!
