Product Description

"Cricket Creek, Kentucky, is a sweet river town known for its theater, shopping, and cuisine. But tough times are crushing tourism--until a hard-swinging baseball team and three hometown heroes begin revitalizing the community one inning at a time." Determined to prove her independence, Mia Monroe is no longer Daddy's little rich girl. Buying an old car with the last of her money, she sets out for who knows where...until her clunker clunks out in Cricket Creek. With no plan and no credit cards, Mia has to find more resilience than she's ever needed before. And a little help from an attractive new acquaintance wouldn't hurt... As first baseman for the Cricket Creek Cougars, Cameron Patrick has two jobs: win games and stay out of trouble. If he can do both, he might just make it back to the minor leagues. He knows Mia is trouble from the moment she catches his eye--but he can't stop looking. And maybe her kind of trouble is exactly what he needs.

Perfect Pitch a great addition to Cricket Creek 1 Oct 2012
By Laurie Lenzini - Published on Amazon.com

What can I say. Luann McLane's whole Cricket Creek series is awesome. I love a series that explores a community and includes the previous couple's in their stories and the series progresses. Perfect Pitch introduces a new couple and brings together some other story lines from previous couples as well. A very good read.

Another Cricket Creek Winner 13 Nov 2012
By Judy - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Mass Market Paperback
LuAnn McLane delivers another homerun in her Cricket Creek Novel, Pitch Perfect.

Mia Monroe is determined to prove that she can stand on her own two feet. Mia has coasted on her daddy's money long enough. She strikes out on her own with a clunker borrowed from the family gardener. The car dies in Cricket Creek and with no means of support Mia is forced to find a way to make this work. Her first job as a waitress is less then stellar but it brings her to the attention of the first baseman for the Cricket Creek Cougars.

Cameron Patrick feels this chance with the Cougars is his last attempt to make it to the big leagues. He just needs to excel at the game and keep his nose out of trouble . But trouble comes in the fine form of Mia. Cameron is finding it a full time job trying to keep his hands and his mind off of Mia. There is something about her that he can't stay away from no matter how hard he tries.

Mia slowly takes control of her life and learns she can do just about anything she sets her mind to do. Her friendship with Cameron explodes into a sizzling and sexy romp. But Mia hasn't been completely honest with Cameron about her background and it could derail their budding romance before it has a chance to fly.

Pitch Perfect is an entertaining and all out sexy read. Cameron and Mia are opposites that work hard to find a common ground in their relationship. It was great to watch these two grow and change. An added bonus was the romance of Mia's father Mitch Monroe and Nicolina Diamante. Its nice to see an "older" couple get their chance to be hot and sexy. Kudos.

Sadly disappointed 24 Oct 2012

Pitch Perfect, Cricket Creek #3, by Luann McLane
Grade: D

"Sometimes it's better to show you how I feel then to tell."

Cameron Patrick knows that playing for the Cricket Creek Cougars is his last chance at making it to the major leagues and playing baseball professionally. Cameron knows he has a chip on his shoulder and that it usually gets him in trouble but when he meets Cricket Creek's new resident Mia Monroe a sense of calmness he has never experienced before takes over. As much as Cameron tries he can't seem to stay away from Mia and trouble seems to follow her everywhere the cute little spitfire goes.

Mia Monroe left her life of wealth and privilege in Chicago and set off to make it on her own without her father, his connections or his money. When the car she buys from her gardener breaks down in Cricket Creek, Kentucky Mia realizes just what a pampered life she's lived but picks herself up and gets a job waiting tables. As much as Mia tries trouble in her new small town seems to follow and most of it involves the sexy baseball player Cameron Patrick. Mia knows she didn't come to Cricket Creek to find love but sometimes things don't go according to plan.

I am a big fan of the Cricket Creek series and was dying to get my hands on this book and dropped everything to read it when I finally did. Sadly I was very disappointed in this edition to a great series and I felt like no matter how hard I tried I couldn't connect with Mia or Cameron. Mia was my biggest problem and for some reason she just rubbed me the wrong way. Mia is trying to break away from her rich girl lifestyle but she comes off very ditzy. I was hoping to see more out of her and I never felt like she really grew up because things just fell into place way too easily for her.

Cameron was another problem for me and I wish that he would have worked more on why he was so angry. I also wish that the connection between Mia and Cameron would have been drawn out more and it felt like it was mostly based on the fact that each thought the other was smoking hot and not that they liked them as a person. Add in the side story of Mitch and Nicolina, which I also couldn't connect with, and this book was a big disappointment.

I may not have enjoyed this book but I do like this series and will try to continue on with it in previous books.

entertaining contemporary sports romance 4 Sep 2012
By Harriet Klausner - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Mass Market Paperback
Though she claims she needs to prove to her dad she can thrive without his wealth, deep down Mia Monroe knows she needs to prove her assertion to herself. Thus she buys a clinker with what little money she calls her own and drives to "destination unknown." Her resolve takes a hit when her car breaks down in Cricket Creek. Kentucky. Having no money for repairs or alternate means of travel, Mia "Money" as she goes by is stranded as she obstinately refuses to ask her daddy for help. Her father hires a private eye to follow his beloved daughter from a distance to insure she is safe,

First baseman Cameron Patrick has a second chance for a career playing for the popular local team the Cricket Creek Cougars; but he must stay pristine clean. Mia obtains a job working for the Cougars. When he meets Mia, he spells her name as Trouble with a capital T and she proves him right. As they fall in love, Cam wonders if he has to choose between his love for the woman who gets him into perpetual tsuris and his love for baseball.

The latest Cricket Creek contemporary sports romance (see Catch of a Lifetime) is an entertaining lighthearted tale starring a baseball player and a mistress of mayhem. Although the plot follows the expected path around the diamond, fans will enjoy this zany amusing tale filled with eccentric players, fans and Mia's horde within a storyline faster than Ricky Henderson stole bases.
