Product Description

From bestselling authors Barbara Ankrum, Adrienne deWolfe and Sharon Ihle come three fresh novellas, featuring three firebrand ladies, each determined to make her mark while making her match.

ETHAN'S BRIDE - 27,000 word sequel to CHASE THE FIRE (Wild Western Hearts, Book 4)
Violet Bradford desperately wants a child. Believing herself barren, she answers Dr. Ethan Walker's advertisement for a mail-order bride in Colorado, knowing he only wants one thing: a mother for his young daughter. Surely the joys of motherhood can compensate for a loveless marriage. But Ethan's broken heart won't stop tugging at hers. And Ethan soon realizes he must risk his heart again or risk losing it all.

SHADY LADY - 26,000 word prequel to DEVIL IN TEXAS (Velvet Lies, Book 4)
Fiery singing sensation, Sadie Michelson, thinks falling in love is bad for business—until William "Cass" Cassidy, a hotheaded gunslinger, sets his sights on wooing her. But when a Texas Ranger arrives in Dodge City to extradite Cass for a crime of passion, Sadie must use all her wits and wiles to lure the law from her man's trail. And that means risking everything—including Cass's love.

BAREBACK BRIDE - 25,000 word sequel to THE BRIDE WORE SPURS (The Inconvenient Bride Series, Book 1)
Expert horsewoman, Shannon Winterhawke runs away from home to join the Buffalo Bill Wild West extravaganza. Shannon is hired on the spot, but the show's head horseman, Seth Edwards, simply sees another flighty gal looking for a cowboy fling before settling down with some unsuspecting fool. But all bets are off as Shannon slowly sneaks into Seth's heart and lassoes him with his own rope.

Shady Lady by Adrienne deWolfe

I received a copy of Shady Lady as a part of the Pistols and Petticoats anthology in exchange for my review.

Cass' past has meant that he can never return to his home town, and so when he runs into Saddie he is shocked. Though she still sells herself Cass can't help but want her and pays a large amount of money to have exclusive access to her, hoping to convince her to come with him at the end of the month. But Sadie's jaded view of the world and her business sense mean that she refuses to fall in love. Before either of them can truly act on how they feel, Cass' friend Jesse risks getting lynched and the pair of them run out of town.

I already know and love deWolfe's writing, the Velvet Lies series was what introduced me to the genre, and as Shady Lady is a part of the series I enjoyed it in that context.

The characters of Jesse and Cass were already a part of the Velvet Lies series and so there was already a basis of their characters in place. I did feel that because of this more attention was given to the character of Sadie rather than the two men. But I thought that was a good thing.

Sadie's character was everything that I love in a female character, she was strong, and even though she was a prostitute, she didn't let any of the men around her tell her what to do. She was also more than just sex on legs, she had a personality, namely her love of music.

The main thing that reading Shady Lady left me with is the desperation to read the next book in the series! I really want to find out what happens with Cass and Sadie.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great variety of the Past 27 July 2014

The first book is very good--deeper emotions than a little romance novel. Real people of the times--I enjoyed it.

Book 2 was a different take on any romance novel. It was interesting and would now like to read the sequel--can't see how either of them can turn out living very long.

Book 3 is also very good with a different type story and the people who participated in the Wild West shows of that time. Cute

Loved all three. Like the idea of the shorter novella for busy people like me. Excellent plots - really enjoy the old west theme. Keep 'em coming!
5.0 out of 5 stars Loved!! 4 Jun 2014

Loved all three of these novellas! ETHAN’S BRIDE especially, because I’ve read and loved Barbara Ankrum’s whole Wild Western Hearts series, which this one is a sequel to. Loved finding out what happened to Chase’s sister, Violet, from CHASE THE FIRE. And Adrienne DeWolfe (SHADY LADY) and Sharon Ihle (BAREBACK BRIDE) are new to me but I loved their stories too. Great characters and romances. And even though once I read them, I wished they were all longer. I would definitely recommend this anthology and I’ll be buying more books by these authors.
5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely Wonderful! 31 May 2014

All three books were very well written, I loved that they were not vulgar in the love scenes like so many other authors! My most favorite was the last of these three books. I loved Seth and Shannon ... I would have really enjoyed all of them more if they had been longer! I wish that Shannon and Caleb would have shared their marriage and upcoming marriage with their parents. Maybe (hopefully) these stories were just short to get reactions from readers, I can tell you I would read all three again if they come out. Thank you all for such wonderful entertainment, reading helped lessen the pain I'm in while I was involved with their lives.
5.0 out of 5 stars Pistols and Petticoats is mesmerizing, great sequel! 27 May 2014

I have been hoping for a sequel to Sharon Ihle’s The Bride Wore Spurs, and found it in this wonderful anthology, Pistols and Petticoats. Ms. Ihle’s offering, The Bareback Bride, didn’t disappoint. I just loved meeting Hawke and Lacy’s headstrong daughter, Shannon, her twin brother Caleb, not to mention the handsome cowboy who steals her heart, Seth. What a great story! I just wish it had been longer. I’ve never read the other two authors before, Barbara Ankrum and Adrienne DeWolf, but their stories were great as well. I’ve definitely added them to my ‘must have’ reading list. Bravo, Ladies!
