Blu Ray brings thse films to life. Great quality at a great price. Dont hesitate, they are in the same league as Indianna Jones and are watchable time after time without loss of enjoyment!!!

The first 3 Pirates movies are terrific, but the fourth movie seems like a typical Hollywood attempt to keep milking a cash cow no matter how it affects the cow! My wife and I were looking forward very much to seeing Ian McShane as Blackbeard, however I felt his character was too one-dimensional - just plain evil, no internal conflicts, no moral dilemmas whatsoever. Davy Jones was a much more intriguing villain, and the other characters were always torn between doing what was right and doing what was expedient. Also, the fourth movie introduces so many new characters that it's hard to keep track of them all (the third movie had this problem somewhat as well).
In any event, this set would be worth the price even if it contained only the first three. The discs play fine here in the USA, and this set is a much better deal than any of the box sets available on this side of the pond.

Bought these because the storylines are inventive, the acting hammy but fantastic for all that and all the family can watch them; real modern day swashbuckler. These films are what BluRay and HDTV was made for and like other reviewers the extra detail and definition both in picture and sound that that combination brings really enhances the experience of watching and actually convinced my wife that it was worth paying extra for the TV - she's never been convinced that HD was any better than SD, but in this case it really is. Bought on a lightening deal so well pleased with the price I paid as well, however, saying that I nearly bought them at full price but just got lucky.

my 4yr old son thinks I bought the box set for him, but Johnny Depp.........what more can I say, Pirates box set is fantastic and came as a single dvd box (all 4 films in 1 box)

4 X brilliant movies great reproduction only set back was the lack of DTS sound which would have made it excellent only film 4 was a DTS sound. great price best around.
