Everybody remembers the old traditional games of 'Snakes and Ladders' and 'Ludo', games which we played as children with our own parents and grandparents. Here we have two traditional games in one, thanks to the sturdy double-sided playing board. And to bring the games more up to date, they are given a fun pirate twist. In the 'Snakes and Ladders' game, the jolly pirates use rope ladders to help them take short cuts to the big treasure chest and win the game. But they have to look out for the slippery sea snakes, which send them sliding back down the board. On the reverse side of the board is the game of 'Ludo', also with a pirate twist; players each have counters, and must try to be the first to get all their counters to their special pirate treasure in the middle of the board. If they land on the same square as another player, they can send that player's counter back to the start. This can prove very exciting when several players are close to winning the treasure, but have to look out for the others trying to send them home. Both games involve a lot of luck, and 'Ludo' can also include a certain amount of strategy, so children have to learn to be patient when the game isn't going their way. Particularly suited to children aged 5 to 9, these games have stood the test of time, and will be popular favourites for the whole family.

I always liked snakes and ladders as a child so decided to buy this for my two children and we had so much fun from such a simple game, now they want to play it every night. I should also say, I would buy this version over others I have seen as it is very good quality and nicely presented but not too expensive, you also get the added feature of ludo on the double sided board which the kids liked aswell , a must for all family's.

I am definitely disappointed with the quality of this game. first, I thought it would be like traditional board games, which come in a box with a separate lid, but in this game, the box is what you see and everything else e.g. the board, pieces, etc.. are just tossed in. The board is folded up into four, which means it probably won't last very long. honestly, it looked like a game that should be sold in a dollar store...

My five year old son is normally not much of a game lover, but he loves this version of Snakes and Ladders. It has been played several times since he received it for his birthday and he has learned to play Ludo too. He loves the idea of beating everyone to the treasure. The other advantage is that while the traditional Snakes and Ladders goes up to 100 this board only goes up to 48. This makes the games shorter and more enjoyable for younger players.
The whole look of the game is also very appealing to boys or anyone who is into pirates.
PS It is still one of his favourite games at the age of 6!

Lots of fun!
Bought for a Christmas present and this is super. Very bright and attractive and great for any pirate lovers! An all time favourite that never seems to date.

Delicate cardboard sticker
you can actually fold the cardboard game to bag it. if by any chance folded incorrectly the sticker will get separated from the cardbaord and that space look ugly :(
