A Kid's Review
Format:Hardcover
This is a great book full of simple and effective ideas for kids of any age to make, with helpful "difficulty" ratings. The games are great too, so you can play with your friends using the swords and things you have made. I like the photography as it shows real kids having real fun, and not just posing for the camera. The projects use everyday household items, and don't need much adult help to make, and all the sizes and templates are included in the back. I also like the well researched history and background information throughout the book.

Pirate Manual 8 April 2009
Format:Hardcover
As a former teacher I am delighted to find a book for the 7-11 age range which provides such well thought out and illustrated projects on a theme which has delighted and intrigued children for a long time. The make and do elements are highly accessible and offer possibilities for a wide range of capabilities; some can be tackled alone by even the youngest and others need parental help. The purely informative element is also very attractively presented and the whole thing is just jolly good fun for parents (or teachers) and children alike.

Pirate Manual 15 Feb 2009
A Kid's Review
Format:Hardcover
This book is jam packed with loads of things to make and do on a pirate theme. The things I want to do are Making a Cannon and Galleon Gateau. I think there's probably more things in here for boys to make than girls, but I still think it's good fun.
