As a primary school teacher working with 5-7 year olds, I bought this book with my class in mind. We have read it for fun but also used it in Literacy lessons and the children have thoroughly enjoyed dipping into the different pages and trying the various activities such as making a pirate's treasure map, practising the pirate lingo and learning about the pirate's dress code to name a few. The book is brilliantly set out as an information text, not needing to be read front to back, with each page having a heading and being dedicated to a certain aspect of pirate life. The illustrations are very child-friendly and the different types of font used are also appealing to children. Highly reccommended for pirate-loving children, parents or teachers.
