Memories of a great Broadway Show 21 Feb 2009

Like most musicals the age shows but as a testimony of a great Broadway show this is wonderful. Pippin was amazing Fosse direction with classic performances by Ben Vereen, Chita Rivera and the rest of a talented cast which only makes me wish many other Broaway and West End shows were filmed in the theater as a lasting momento and timeless record.

Loved this as a young person but sadly it does not time travel 30 Sep 2008

This was one of my favourite musicals when I was a teenager but it does not pass the test of time, the bright, television video lighting and erratic camerawork spoils many set pieces, and the wink wink innuendo doesn't seem as funny. But it was worth revisiting, if only for the anthems that were, after all, the soundtrack of my childhood.
