Product Description

Tommy and his sister Annika have a new neighbor, and her name is Pippi Longstocking. She has crazy red pigtails, no parents to tell her what to do, a horse that lives on her porch, and a flair for the outrageous that seems to lead to one adventure after another!

3.0 out of 5 stars American version, not the same as the gift edition book., 12 Jun 2011
This review is from: Pippi Longstocking (Audio CD)
Bought this for our lad (who enjoys Pippi Longstocking), on the grounds that it was an unabridged reading, and we've been enjoying the gift version of the book together. An audio book would mean he could also listen in his room of an evening, and independently. Unfortunately, this is an American version, so "holidays" become "vacations" and so on. Whilst our son did enjoy the audio, he was somewhat confused by the differing vocabulary used, and initially thought we'd bought the wrong story. Our child likes to listen to audio books whilst following the printed version, or just between our readings of the same books, so we'd have preferred to know that this audio *wasn't* the same version we'd been reading.

5.0 out of 5 stars FAB. we love this ., 20 Jun 2010
This review is from: Pippi Longstocking (Audio CD)
My daughter loves this adn the books have been great too. We started with one of the books and then followed it up with this cd. This prompted the purchase of more books which my daughter is digesting with gusto!

Would make a great gift for a girl of between 5 and 8ish depending on reading ability.

5.0 out of 5 stars You MUST read this to your child, 29 Jan 2004
Pippi is not really like other girls. Though she is just a child she lives alone in a large house with her monkey and horse. Her hair is red, her socks are two different colors and , oh yeah, she is the stongest girl in the world. A very unorthodox hero that makes Harry Potter look like an ordinary child. Wonderful.
