Ok, so the welds. They are sturdy and should hold up to any abuse you throw at it as amature or hobbyist in the art of bondage. The unit I purchased had some minor flaws in all the welds; the ring was not welded completely shut and was off center a bit, the welds for the "spider" part of the ring had the same flaws and had the appearance of being incomplete, IE. ill formed and hollow looking.
Other than the tiff about the welds I am thoroughly happy with this item. The buckle in the back is sturdy and you don't feel like you are going to break it. The leather is thick enough to withstand a good life and does not appear to want to rip out under strain from the buckle. Once positioned into the mouth and strapped around the head correctly the wearer can not push it out and holds the mouth open nicely. I experienced no cuts, nicks, abrasions, or lacerations of any kind when I was using it during some rough use on neither my mouth nor my member.
The only thing preventing this item from receiving the 5th star was the workmanship of the welds. Now keep in mind that you are paying dirt cheep for something that is not medical grade, which is what you really want if you are going beyond enthusiast and looking to adapt it into your lifestyle. Go ahead, look up anything like this that is considered professional grade and you will be paying out some high dollars.
